as soon as I answered, they hung up. I think it was just to verify that ours was a legit number.

Their recording service identifies the business as "Central Research Services, a political polling company."

You're given the option of being placed on their "do not call" list.

I got a call from this number the day after I was involved in a serious car accident. May just be blind chance.

Also, when I answered, I received no reply and it hung-up on me.

Received a call on 1/28/08 about 9:30pm MST - they waited maybe 20 seconds and hung up.

It rang three times before I could get to it -- and when it picked it up (just before the fourth ring) they were gone.

Called on the same night that 646-453-1349 called.  Calls from both numbers had no response/dial tone when I answered.  Both numbers called us twice as of now.  After internet search I stopped answering the calls.  They only rang twice.

Got a call from 212-777-1645 as soon as I answered they hung up.  Did the star69 and got the number.  Called it right back and it belongs to "central research services."  Hate that!

I'm so sick of of this phone number. They call some times 4 times a day. When Last time I picked up just a few minutes ago I heard a male voice for about 5 seconds, then silence. I'm going to my digital phone account on line and see if I can block this number. I'll be back to let you know if I can. Tim

1-212-777-1645 has called our house half a dozen times in the last 18 hours.  they hang up as soon as we answer.

Well, before I had the time to go online and block the phone number, I received another call; it’s now 6:18pm Central time. The man began by stating that he was from Central research and asked if I was would be interested in taking an opinion poll. I let him know I've received multiple calls and it was getting very irritating. He said, "I'm sorry". I then stated, I would like you to take my name off the call list. He hurriedly stated," Your gone bye" and with that, it hung up the phone. So, we will see what happens. Tim

212.777.1645 has called at least 5 times in the last three days - also received two calls from 212.529.5461 in the same timeframe. Had many more "single rings" too that stop before registering the number in my caller ID. My number is unlisted and I don't give it out to anyone but friends & family. if anyone figures out a way to stop the calls - please post. Much appreciated.

So, I did a bit more reseach on the 212-529-5461 cold call. I learned on:  
http://whocalled.us/lookup/2125295461?r=1# - from others that Central Research has a phone number they answer so I called. I called(212)260-0070 told the rep to remove my number from their database and not to sell it to anyone else. She said they don't sell their lists (we'll see about that) She asked for my number and put me on hold for less than a minute. When she came back on she told me I was removed from their list. I'll post if they call back again from either number...if you don't hear from me..well then... I'd suggest you call the same number (212) 260-0070 and get your number removed as well. Good luck.

I've received many calls from this number in the past week, no reply when I say hello, they have not left message on our answering maching either.

Trying to find out who they are, I googled that number and found this site.

QUIT CALLING, PLEASE

Call came into today at 6 PM from this number.  They hung up.  Received another call at 9 PM from 212-529-5461 which seems to be a related interest.  

I called a call back number referenced on the 529 number and told the idiot on the other end this is a do not call number and another call from them would result in my filing a lawsuit against them for $500 every time they call from either number.

Phone rings - no one there when I answer - drops off to dial tone.

212-777-1645 called but we didn't answer. After checking this site, I know not to ever answer. A friend of mine received a similar call from a Phoenix, AZ number 623-238-6016 that is apparently a phising scam trying to get identifying information. What can we do to prevent this scum of the earth from calling?!?! Is there any federal agency that we can report these numbers to so that they can be investigated?

2127771645 has called 2 in one hour answer but no answer on the other end.

We have been receiving calls from 212-777-1645 for several days. They always hang up. Very annoying.
