Caller ID name read "NEW YORK".   I don't know what the call was about because I disconnected without answering.   Considering the format of the caller id, it's very likely a scam of some sort.

they tried they were  from Microsoft and tried to hack into my computer  but i hung up before they could and before he gave me steps to do it

caller said his name was john and he was calling for microsoft!!!! Told him to lose number and hung up...

I  got call from this number three times; most recently about an hour ago.
The caller id says New York, 1-212-777-8569.
I don't answer so they leave a message. The message goes like this: Hi my name is Debbie from the prize notification center. You entered a drawing within the last 18 months to win either $25,000 in cash or a $25,000 shopping spree. Your name has been chosen. Please call me at 1-877-428-720 (the last number is not spoken clearly. It sounds like 1-877-428-72039 which we know is not a phone number. She says her extension is 259 and that I should call her about the prize. Funny that the Microsoft mention is using the same number and I got that call a few nights ago and told him I know a scam when I hear one and hung up. Microsoft does not call people to tell them they need to help them with their computer.
