- chris morgan| 1 replyIndian accented chap called from a blocked phone to say that he is Keith Watson and has a report that error messages are popping up on my computer and my computer is running slowly, and he has a licensed Microsoft technician to help me work through the issues. He said I could call 212-796-0581, but he would pass me through now to the tecbnician. As a windows user, of course, I get 'send error report' messages all the time. He was unable to tell me what error message in particular had come to his attention.
Sounds like a scam to install malware on my computer. - Ms ConnectedIndian accented person said he had permission from my mother to contact me regarding computer problems - this was left in a message as I don't answer out of area or unknown name/no. calls - said a microsoft tech would be able to help me - I have a Mac, so don't need any microsoft help...

- J O Howell replies to chris morganToday (2-25-09) this same event happened to me. They knew my phon3e number and name. Before I had my wits about me I revealed my email address. I finally excused myself and said I had to go somewhere and offered to call them back. Instead they said they would call me. In the mean time I called Dell and they said as far as they were concerned there was nothing wrong with my computer and no one from their office called me.
- gonyCalled stating got message that my computer was running slowly and would have technitian fix problem ,cost fifty four dollars
- San FranciscoI just got more or less the same call. A guy with an Indian or similar accent, very hard to hear over loud phone-bank-type background noise, saying he was calling re supposed Windows online support, and that I was having trouble with my Windows PC because of "junk files." I asked if it was a sales call and he said "no," and that it was online support. I kept asking how they got my name and number, and he claimed it was because of some report sent by my computer. (I find it highly unlikely any report sent by my computer could be connected with the phone number he called.) He transferred me to his "supervisor," a man with a similar accent but without the background noise. The supervisor said his name (or a name) quickly and then said that he would help me see where the problem was. He wanted me to go into the "Run" feature and and enter and open the word "eventvwr". I did not do so, but asked the "supervisor" for a number and name where I could call him back after looking into this. He declined to give his name again but said to call 212-796-0581 and ask for his "agent," Neo Anderson. For those who don't remember, that is the name of the main character in The Matrix. I said something about The Matrix and ended the call.

- Friend in SAJune 15, 2009 Indian fellow gave two numbers 347-289-3770 and 212-796-0581 for Support On Click with an address at 6332 Grand Central Parkway, NY, Ny. Claimed to have fixed my friends computer of a lot of problems and swore he was not selling anything. Yet now he wants to be paid for fixing her machine. If they can repair the machine remotely, how can she know that they aren't the ones that manufactured the problems in the first place?
