recorded message from a carpet cleaning company

Got one as well...don't know how I got it.

Recording to clean my rugs....came in on my cellphone will in a meeting.  I pressed 1 to "schedule an appointment" and got a live woman.  I politely asked her I can be removed from their calling list.

She hung up.

And dialing 212-796-0629 just gets you a busy signal.

Same here.  Just got a call from 212-796-0629 a few minutes ago (3/4/2008 @ 12:10 pm).

Me too. Came to my cell phone, which I never give out. Got the call at 12:34 on 3/4/08

You guys should file a complaint with the FTC.
"FCC regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers."

I've gotten a call on my cell phone from this number as well at 11:58am on 3/4/08 for carpet cleaning. I just filed my complaint.

Same thing -- a recorded message about carpet cleaning, I pressed "1" to "make an appointment," and "Mike" hung up on me when I asked for information on the company.

Same as above. I didn't pick up the call.

I get calls from this number regularly, even though I'm registered as on all "do not call" lists.  Very annoying!

I had the SAME experience. I tried to nicely tell her she'd called a DO NOT CALL number and to please take it off her list. She hung up on me.

Also, when you try to call back, all you every get is a busy signal.

In my case she called my 646 area code cell phone at 7AM!!! because I now live in Los Angeles.

I have made a formal complaint to DONOTCALL.gov

I had the same experience as you, Lizanne. Fortunately, I'm not in L.A., so I haven't been woken up by these calls.

I am sick of getting calls from212-796-0629 It belongs to Diane/Carper Clesaning. The company that telemarkets this # is Product Development Corp. in California. Their # is (one of them, anyway) 303-280-8689. I called last week and left a message to have my # removed immediately. Today, March 8th '08 I got  another call. Thanks to the person who posted the FTC # to complain.

have received more than a dozen calls from this "carpet cleaning" co. I am on the do not call list & this is the only telemarketer call I get.  I also pressed one but no one came on the line. I tried calling the number & it was busy.  I am going to complain to the gov't about this.  (I also have no carpets in my apt)

I just got the call and when she came on I asked her how she got my number and she said I was reffered and I asked her where are they located and she hung up.

How is she getting our numbers???
Just got the call too.  I suppose she just began this this month.

What a f**** b*****. she hung up on me 2. I hope that they will end up with a huuuuuge fine.

Same thing, carpet cleaning services, they call every 2 weeks. Nobody on the line. I am also on a Do Not Call list.

Ditto what you all said.  Carpet Cleaners.  Left a complaint on the Donotcall registry.  I live in Manhattan and don't have carpets.  Stupid $#%& company!!!!!
