They call these "spoof" calls. Ho ho. What a "spoof."

They steal a legit phone number in an area code you might be using. Your caller ID tells you it MIGHT be a legit call. But if you don't recognize the number, don't bother. I let the phone machine pick up.

Got a call from this number and automated voice saying it was about my current electric bill.  Hung up and when I called back it said the number was not in service.   Just ignore the call or put on call block

Just got their call my fax machine was on to get rid of "Power Bill" and "Card Services" which have finally gotten it and listed it as a FAX LINE yeah!.  This method has never failed so now I will continue leaving it on for a few more days untill these [***] get with the program.  I just pick up wanted calls and Check my caller ID when I come home and call back the calls from friends, nobody really uses land lines anymore the calls I get usually are the idiots, everyone else calls my cell.
If you don't have a fax use your call forwarding and forward to the FCC 717 338 2533   This is loads of fun, just don't go out and leave it on because others will also get forwarded there, you have to be able to pick up wanted calls......Have fun, I do...I love it !

Getting called from this number constantly!! Finally tried calling back and the number was not in service.

This is clearly some kind of illegal illegitimate operation using this telephone number to scam ConEd customers.  I am receiving several calls a day from this number.  It is disruptive and annoying.  When i answer the caller does not identify himself or the outfit he represents but immediately asks for my ConEd account number.  Of course I will not give out any account numbers or personal information to persons I do not know or did not call myself.  I have contacted ConEd about this activity.  It is concerning that the more trusting among us (elderly etc) may fall victim to some kind of scam using the good name of ConEd.

Received several calls from this number.  No message or name left.

This is the same credit card company that calls to alert me to "important news about your credit." They change their number constantly--I block them on a daily basis and they call back with a new one two to three times a day. This is one BAD company!!!!!! I have never done business with them and report them constantly (with new numbers) to the "do not call" registry. Yet they persist. Bad people.

This caller is persistent.  Does not leave any message or name.  How many times must the person/s be reported?  A rhetorical question?

They call twice a day, every day. Dead air, no response or static. Hangs up after about 5-6 seconds.
