Received a message from an 'Officer Gabrielle Smith'  [212-981-4123] from the 'law department' saying there is a 'law suit filed against my name' & that my 'residential address is under state investigation'.  Further, she can help me 'get out of this mess' if I don't call back, she will have to take 'legal actions against me' . [If there is already a law suit, she has ALREADY taken legal actions against me].

I then received a call @ work the next day.  The same individual--foreign accent--stated I was to listen to her and 'not to interrupt' while she is speaking.  She stated I had received a 'payday' loan on 09/12/10, and had failed to pay it--I owed $400 (?). She stated  she could help me out of 'this'.  I then DID interrupt her and told her I needed written documentation of this debt.  She stated she did not have that information just form law office; 'do you know what the filing for for a lawsuit is in your state?'

Never took a 'payday' loan--don't know how she got my personal information.  According to the statues, the debtor has the right to dispute, and receive verification of the debt. This individual is not even slick enough to know the rules.

I will file a complaint with the New York AG office, the FTC, & my state's AG office.
