Half a ring then hangs up. Twice in a row!!

It rang once and no messages.

Called and hung up after 2 rings. No message. Seems like a pattern here.

I hate giving out my personal cell number just for the sheer fact of people who I don't know call me trying to sell me something.  
There should be a way not to be sold since we pay our own phone bill.  

I called the number back since I have a prepaid phone I figured it didn't matter.  It is an automated recording saying that it is Reward Redemption and that I recently visited one of their websites.  Apparently we have all won $100 gift cards and that's why they are calling us.  

I wonder if they get around the telemarketing rule since they have people call them back.  Anyway, it's not a call back and charge you money, it's a call back and give us your information because you "won".

July 28th, 2014 10:00AM  There was one(1)   Half (1/2) a ring and then disconnect/hang up

So i received a phone call from this number, it rang for half of a second, and then hung up. It was a Los Angeles, California area code. When i called it was the usual you recieved a free $100 dollar gift card redeemable at Walmart/Lowes/Home Depot, so i go with it (knowing full well it is a scam, this is the conversation that followed)

Tracey: Hello my name is Tracey can you verfiy your name for me?
Me: Brendan Fraser (Not actually Brendan Fraser, Just kind of look like him)
Tracey: Ok Mr. Fraser, can i get your address.
Me: Of course, hay by the way where are y'all located?
Tracey: It is based out of Tampa, Florida.
Me: Why does my caller ID say the phone is based out of Los Angeles, and asked do you have an affiliate company that you use to route phone calls through for security purposes.
Tracey: Yes we are affiliated with a large number of corporation.
Me: So where are y'all located at?
Tracey: Tampa, Florida
Me: So not Los Angeles?
Tracey: No Florida.
Me: So who do you work for?
Tracey: Iso Rewards Department
Me: Oh-OK awesome can i get your phone number and extension in case we get disconnected because i would love to get that $100 dollar gift card.
Tracey: OK can i get your address.
Me: FIrst can i get your extension, and phone number before we start in case i get disconnected?
Tracey: oh the number on caller ID is fine just call that.
Me: So if i call the caller ID it will bring me right to you? No extension needed?
Tracey: Yes, can i have your address?
Me: So what is the number I need to call.
Tracey: (Shuffling through papers, muffled whispering)
Me: Hello Tracey?? Hello Tracey?
Tracey: Yes that phone number is 281-534-0107
Me: So that phone number is 281-537-7878? Is that correct? (Knowing full well I did not repeat the same number to her)
Tracey: Yes that is correct. Can i Get your phone number
Me: Ok so again just to make sure that number is 215-525-0073 (REPEATED RANDOM PHONE NUMBER FOR [***] AND GIGGLES)
Tracey: (Exaspeerated gasp) YES, that is correct.
Me: Ok so can i get y'alls website to verify who yall are?
Tracey: You do not need our website?
Me: Well i just want to know who i am dealing with, can i please have your website?
Tracey: Oh i am not allowed to give that out, if you stay on the line after we fill out your information we will transfer you to the mailing department and they can give you all of your information.
Me: Ok great!
Tracey: So what is your address?
Me: (I give a [***] address to the local Walmart) with a Spring, Texas area code.
Tracey: Ok so you are from spring?
Me:  Oh no mam i was born in Pennsylvania. (I was not born in Pennsylvania, Just trolling)
Tracey: So what was your address again?
Me: (Same [***] address)
Tracey: So you are not from in Spring?
Me:  Oh no mam i was born in Pennsylvania.
Tracey: So what was your address again?
Me: I was born in Pennsylvania, I am currently living in Spring.
Tracey: Ugh ok so your address is ******
Me: Yes mam
Tracey: Ok so how would you like to pay for the Shipping and Handling charges and we will mail you your gift card.
Me: Can i have your website?
Tracey: I told you i can't give you our website?
Me: So can i have your company name again I can't read my writing, is it Iron reward programs?
Tracey: Yes. How will you pay.
Me: Wait sorry that says Iso not Iron.
Tracey: Yes that is correct. HOW WILL YOU PAY.
Me: So it is Iso reward programs and you are located out Tampa, Florida, and your caller ID says Los Angeles, California.
You know i actually spent some time in India and if I'm not mistaken your accent sounds like you are from Mumbai, is that right?
Tracey: NO WE ARE IN FLORIDA. I sound this way because i am ASIAN, not INDIAN.
Me: Oh I am so sorry.
Tracey: So how will you pay?
Me: How much is it again?
Tracey: 3 Dollars and we will mail it write to you.
Me: Oh that's not to bad.
Tracey: Ok so can i get your information on how you will pay.
Me: Actually can yall just take it out of the $100 gift card?
Tracey: NO WE CAN NOT DO THAT. (HMMM-Ha exasperated gasp) It is a prepaid gift card.
Me: Oh ok can i get your address so i can mail you money.
Tracey: CLICK
Me: Hello Tracey. (said with a smile on my face)

Then i tried to call again. and the number was not connecting again after several calls.
So i guess they blocked my phone number hopefully for good.

Was only on the phone for about 15 minutes.
Totally worth it.

Outstanding work.  The longer you keep them on the line with nonsense like that the less chance they have to scam others.

It rang once and then went to Missed call. They called my cell phone number.

i called it back since i am in los angeles area. robot said press 1 for a hundred dollar rebate and press 2 to be on the do not call list

Rang on my cell. Answered and no one was there. Annoying!

I answered. (I can't stand the sound of a ringing phone.) There was an open line but nothing there. It had to be an automated call that hung up shortly after connecting.

Rang once and hung up. Left no voicemail.

I'm from PA and they called me and before I could answer they hung up. When I called back it rang once then transferred to an out of service tone.
