I received a call from this number today as the Backoffice Law Firm from originally from a "David William" then transferred to his "Sr. Officer David Stone" when the original David was asked for his direct line.  David Stone refused to give me a phyiscal address and to call the number back and would get the address.  I told him not to call me back that this was a scam and & I knew it was.  He said if I wanted his address to file a lawsuit & would see him in court!!  Don't be fooled by these people.  I have gotten so many calls from "law offices" and they always had a thick middle eastern accent as well but had very "generic" American names

So I have a question for everyone, and please be honest.  Did anyone here attempt to do that Cash Advance service advertised called Money Mutual (talk show host Montel appears in their commercials)?  Money Mutual is not a lender themselves, they basically collect all your personal informtion and forward it off to multiple short term loan sites.  I'll admit, I did this thinking I would get a better rate than doing a paycheck advance locally, but I was wrong.  Anyways, let me know if you did this as well, then maybe we can form a trail of who's been selling/divulging our information...then I smell class action :)

Allen Thomas left a message indicating I owe 8,500 in payday loans. I ask him who in their right minds would loan anyone that amount of money for a payday advance and he should try calling some other mindless twitt who doesnt have common sense and would fall this scam. I told him if I was recording our conversation and I was turning it over to the police. I hung up and call the police department and the dummies called back while I was on the phone. It is hard to believe that someone who actually fall for this scam.

I have been receiving calls from an unknown 0000 at least once a day for 2 weeks now always from "Robin Wilson" trying to contact (my first and last name) with a very "time sensitive matter" and to not disregard this call that either Myself or my attorney needs to call her back at (213)286-0298 and that if I do not call her today that at that point all she could do for me is pray for my future. (All in a heavy Indian accent with background noises that varied from driving a car with the window down or a cash register dinging)

She claimed to work for the State attorney's office as a paralegal and she was calling to inform me that I was the prime suspect in a bank defraudment case in the state of california and to avoid the embarassment of being arrested I could pay the $896 I owed and the matter would be resolved.

I informed her that I was aware this was a scam and that I would be immediately reporting this to all the proper authorities.  There was 5 to 10 seconds of silence (except for the street traffic background noise) and then they hung up.

I keep getting calls on both my cell phone and even my office phone from 213-286-0298.  The messages they leave state they are calling on a time sensitive matter.  They have a thick middle-eastern accent and talk in a very slow, halting manner--as if they are reading at a first grade level from a script that they have to "sound out" the words.  The caller says his name is Morris, and states "do not ignore this call...you must call.  NOW."  He then concludes with "if you do not call within seconds, you will be in god's hands as this situation unfolds upon you."  It is very noisy in the background (not like an office setting).  My office phone had 6 back to back voicemails of hangups, and then a 7th call with the identical speech as above...indicating this is indeed from a script.  When I called back, I asked for "Morris" and they didn't know what I was talking about.  I informed them I knew they were a scam, and they shouldn't waste their time with calling me because I will never send them money.  They asked if I had an attorney, and I told them I did.  They responded with very broken english that I don't have an attorney & called me a "liar that will face god" and hung up on me.

I got the same call today from the same person. Definitely a scam.

Buy a whistle or air horn and use it, or pass the phone over to your <insert ethnicity here> attorney and begin speaking gibberish.

I have stilll been getting these messages from these fools for months.  this morning it was from " tom walker" okay tom you cant speak english. So for this time sensitive matter you can  go run in the middle of the highway. they are relentless they started calling me a 0700 this morning and will continue to call all day and for the next day and stop for a couple of weeks and then start back up. i have reported them to everyone,. FBI, secreat service, attorney generals office, federal trade commission, california bar association for pretending to pass them selfs off as lawyers. and still they keep calling. just play the game when they call i call them back and as soon as they ans the phone i blast them with the radio full blast. see how they like it.  you can change you number but if they have you job number like me they call and get it from someone. so why not play along.

I am getting calls this week and they have very thick accents but told me their names are John Cook and other american names..They are scaring me and not sure what to do!

I have gotten the same call and was told the same thing as you verbadum. I am in the collections/banking field and this is without a doubt a scam. Don't bother calling them back. They are continuing to call & harass me on my cell & at work. Just an fyi...they have called me from 512-647-2322 (TX), 213-286-0298 (San Diego ) 315-294-9475 (Bufallo, NY). The only issue is I don't know how to stop them!!

Have you had any luck getting your social security number changed as I am concerned that they had my ssn, address, checking info etc...

These guys (and now girls) are a royal pain in my ass.   I know their script by heart and can recite it word for word.  The (American) names used are Officer Robin Wilson, Jack Dawson, Michael Redman, Donna Jones, Nancy White.  Can these names be any more unoriginal???  Nothing against any of you (who really are Amerocan) who have these names, but the last names are among the most in the US. I have told these [***] that I know they are scammers and all they are doing is wasting their own time since they will not get a blessed penny out of me.  I have also told them that no legitimate debt collector from America would use the word God in their voicemail messge since God has nothing to do with this.  However, I did tell Robin that this scam is all over the internet.  I also said that if this was a legitimate business they wouldn't have so many call back #'s - with different company names, but the exact same verbage as all the other messages.  I guess they think being persistent will wear me down and I will give in. I owe no-one a dime and these scum sucking, bottom feeders, can't get a real job, so they prey on innocent people,  I hope they do get caught.

The phone calls to my home and cell have stopped since I changed my #'s, but they do have my work # and call every 3 - 4 weeks.

I have invested in an air horn.  I bought one for $1.00 at Dollar Tree.  Very loud and very effective.

By the way everyone.....all I can say is I hope that situation UNFOLDS ON THEM AND MAY GOD BE WITH THEM or maybe Karma --- what goes around must surely come back around.
