Was an automated message sayin that the IRS needs me to contact them before they take legal action against me.The message gave another phone number but I couldn't understand it.

i got this phone call at 230 am

This is a scam!!  Called at 3 AM.................. r u kidding me??????????????   BLOCK THIS NUMBER FROM YOUR PHONE!!

Received a call at 2:30 am. Recorded message said its was from the irs and they needed to speak to me or my attorney before they take legal action.

Like so many of the others I received this call at 3am and was more than a little angry! I have no problem with the IRS but recording stated otherwise. I hung up and tried to call the number but got no answer. I am on the do not call list and I will be filing a complaint, not that it will do me any good!

Got a call from this scammer and as soon as I started to call him out on his bs scam he hung the phone up. This Indian/Arab/Middeeastern crook needs to be arrested and deported. WTF, I'm disgusted by things like this, not cool. It's is a scam if you receive a call from, don't give any of your valueable information out over the person nor even in person in some cases, you have to be careful but it's definitely a scam at 213-289-9223 2132899223 The story I got is that he's the head of Internal Revenue Service and then he said a lawsuit was being filled on me by the IRS and asked me do I have an attorney, LOL SMFH

There are numerous telephone and email scams in which individuals claim to be employees of the Treasury Department. These scammers often state that they are from the “Department of Legal Affairs,” offer grant money in exchange for you wiring a small payment, or threaten to arrest you within a short period of time unless payment is made. Do not provide personal information or payment to these individuals.  Their actions are crimes under Titles 18 and 31 of the United States Code, and the Treasury Office of Inspector General is working to stop them.

If they claim to be from Treasury, report  it to OIGCounsel@oig.treas.gov with a description.  If it was a phone contact, include:
the exact date and time that you received the call(s)
the phone number of the caller
the geographic location and time zone where you received the call
a description of the communication.

If they claim to be from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or it is about taxes, report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at:

This scam called me at 2:30am. They are saying that I need to call them before they take action. They said it was about the IRS? Like seriously?! I'm only 16!!

Got a call at 3am... Could hardly understand the message that was left, and the IRS does not call you they send certified letter! Smh...

This is a spoofed # (not real) and is also just a new version of the same old IRS scam that has been happening for a few years now.  The voice is much slower, and I think female this time, and there is a much better attempt to make the voice sound like it is an American speaking (and it may well be someone from the US speaking).  But in the end, this is a scam and no one should respond or act on the message.  This is not even remotely how the IRS contacts you (for any reason).  This call is more in line with how law enforcement in other countries act to rob their citizens (for example in India).

IRS scam.   Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.   Block and ignore.   DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

Got a call from 213-289-9223 he stated that I would go to jail if I didn't pay them the price that they told me in 10 min I told them that I didn't have that kind of money so I was worried that I was going to jail then after I Googled the # I found out it was a scam and when he called back I called him out on it and he said well the local sheriff will be there in 45 min to take u to jail well I still haven't seen the local sheriff.

I got the same thing, 8 days ago at 2:57 A.M..  She left a voice mail,  but didn't see it until today

The real-IRS is aware of these impersonation telephone scams!  Unfortunately, these lawsuit calls like this is trouble!

I now want to believe that the real-IRS has given us innocent people good advice to stay away from these impersonation telephone scammers who are being responsible for this fraud!
