- BigA replies to RussCraigslist, Kiiji, AutoTrader, Etc. Scam:
The scam works like this. Communication is always by text or email for some made up reason such as they are deaf, they deployed and can't use their phone (then how did the text get out?), etc. They think your item as described is perfect. They might ask a few questions about it, and then will pay your asking price, sight unseen, because they are never around close by to come look at it (they use the stationed somewhere in the military a whole lot, or working overseas, or on an oil rig in the middle of the ocean, or simply fill in your own job here). They will give you an extra $40 or $50 to hold it for them. Then they tell you they will send a cashier’s check or money order for that amount plus extra for the “shipper”. They count on the fact that people don’t know or realize that the funds being made available by the bank and the check actually clearing are two completely different things. They ask you to wire that extra money by untraceable means such as Western Union or Moneygram. The check or money order turns out to be bogus and you end up out the money you sent plus the bank fees. Also, if the check is big enough you may end up being charged criminally. Take the check and the envelope it came in to the post office and have them forward it to the postal inspectors.
In the case of them using PayPal, the same thing happens. They send a fake email looking like it came from PayPal, get you to pay the shipper, and then find out that the e mail was fake and no money is available. - Nita Johnson| 1 replyI became friends with Diddy (AKA Sean Combs and Love) on Twitter in 2018. Since then, I have responded to his text and even sent him private messages on Twitter.. Today he texted me (June 14, 2020) and surprisingly started a romantic chat with me (on Twitter) telling me how beautiful I am. He then asked me if I had WHATSAPP and if not to install it on my phone so that we could chat privately. I was reluctant because of past experiences from guys I have met on Dating Sites who wanted me to chat with them on WHATSAPP. And the men either asked me for money or nude pictures. But since I had been communication with Diddy for almost 3 years on Twitter, I trusted him. So he immediately gets in touch with me through Chat on WHATSAPP and he said he had to go see his Attorney and will be back to chat with me later. I had some errands to run and when I was driving back home from the errands I received a text from him while I was driving. After returning home, (2:43 p.m.) I called the 213-478-5250 number which was his registered number on WHATSAPP. But the phone just rang and no one answered. I became suspicious and googled 213-478-5250 and I find it is a Scammer Number. So, while I am writing this, he texts me and I questioned him about his identity and requested that he Facetime me so that I can verify that he is Diddy (Sean Combs). He said that he could not do it tonight, but tomorrow he will Facetime me and I will be shocked. I know that he will probable contact me again on WHATSAPP, but I probable won't respond. I am sorry that I gave him my telephone number and Name. One thing that puzzles me is how was he able to impersonate Sean Combs (Diddy) onTwitter.

- Tygerkat replies to Nita JohnsonIt's the Internet. People pretend to be someone they're not on a regular basis. I'm surprised "he" dragged it out for as long as he did, though.
