Received a call from this number this morning.  Claimed as other posts Department of Legal Affairs.  Heavy indian accent name this time Steve Williams

Yep, that's the one I got.

I just received a call from this number.  His accent was so heavy that I had a difficult time making out what he said.  I did get his name, though - Pete.  And at the end of the message, he told me to have a blessed day.

Received call from  213 533 2183  stating he was Justin Snyder with the Department of Legal Affairs  US Treasury Office. Proceeded to tell me that I owe large amounts of money to fed govt due to fraudulent taxes and advised me to get an attorney...etc.   My daughter called him back and demanded the main number to supervisor/ US treasury office... this heavily accented scam artist hung up on my daughter.  I am 78 years old.  Do not fall for this scam!

I got a phone call today and was very creepy!! Hung up on the man and he called back twice! I hung up every time. Same number and I called it and couldn't even understand how they answered but knew this was fake!!! Sick people!!!!!!

Bogus. Most likely Somalian. Used to deal with dozens on a daily basis.  And more than likely illegal.

Several Calls...threatened my wife with lawsuit and told her that he wanted to "eat her p#ssy". When she hung up, he called back immediately on a different # (413 -391-9388 which is Miami, the original # is from LA) and there was also a woman on the line (who seemed surprised to hear my voice and then disappeared). She handed me the phone and he told me that he wanted to "f#ck" my wife. He called his company, Legal Affairs.

Got 6 calls within 6 minutes from "Scott McKinley" with the Department of Legal Affairs who is "looking forward to speak to" me so I can avoid a mess.  Also said I should have my retained attorney with me when I call back.  Yeah, right on that.  STRONG foreign accent, poor grammar, no company name, nothing about the purpose of the call.  I believe debt collectors are required to state that the call is an attempt to collect a debt if that is why they are calling.  This number is now blocked on my phone.

The Sanford, Florida # was area code 407, not 413. My fault...

However...I called the number and the guy who called me answered. He is sitting at home with his wife. He gave the phone to her because he could not understand my "accent". I then called the Sanford Police Department where I was very politely told that there was nothing that could be done. Our only possible solution would be to go to our local police station and, if the option was available, I could file a "courtesy report" and then ask if it could be forwarded to them. At that time, if it was deemed credible, the report would be assigned to an investigator and I would be contacted at his/her discretion... In other words...get used to this guy because they don't care!

If the police are unwilling to do anything about this guy, maybe we should turn the table on him. If enough of us get together and barrage this guy with calls (content not to be discussed here), we could, at least, have some fun with this [***]. Clearly the authorities don't care what we do!
