Sales - hung up when asked question

Caller asking which photocopier our business uses and the name of the person in charge of ordering supplies and asked the name of the owner.

Called asking about printer, and said that the cost of toners went up. Asked if I wanted a case of toners for old price. Told Sara and James "No." Hung up

called wanting to send me supplies for our copier and when I asked what company they were they started laughing and hung up, I stayed on the line and some one came back on and said what was your question again when I said what company are you with they hung up again.

caller asked for photocopier unit number.  we get these calls every 6 to 9 months and some are fairly rude and harrassing when you either ask for company name(never given).  this one was not but i was finally able to get caller id.  i hear these are scams to report your copier stolen or send your business unwanted supplies and invoices.

Called saying they were from "customer service for photo copier and needed to update records, could you please verify the model number". I stated that we don't give that info over the phone and he very quickly said thanks and hung up.

We have been warning employee's about this scam, they get the model number and send COD supplies that are unwanted.

We also received multiple "fax" line calls before and after they made contact, not sure if it is unrealated or not???

Called and said "photo copier machine customer service, may I have the name and model # from the front of your copier" This is the same script an old scammer tried to use on us. Maybe they're legit, but why the old scammer script?

Had this number call me today asking the same exact question.  I said "Can I ask what company you are with" and the person on the line said "nevermind" and hung up.

I got a call today from them.  When he asked for my copier number, I said, "What for?"  He said "Never mind," then hung up.

Got a call from a lady that said she was sending out the new serivce manuals for the copier and wanted me to give her the model number.  I've had hundreds of these people call me over the years.  Had I thought far enough ahead or a little more quickly, I would have messed with her a little bit.  However, I was busy and simply said, "Not interested" and hung up.

These folks need to get a real job.  But then again, so do I.

I get these calls all the time at work.  Sometimes that get so bad and call me really obscene names when I ask what company are they calling from.  I was told when I first started they had previously sent out a case of toner and we were invoiced for $1000.  They will call first to get your model number and hang up.  They will then call at a later time just asking for your address.  Then you will receive it and it is almost impossible to return.  Watch out and please warn any employee who may answer the phones not to give out any information.  I also taped a sticky over the model number saying not to give out information.

Carl Stevens called to let me know there had been an increase in toner prices and that he could ship me the toner for last years price. I said no thank you and he rudely hung up!
He has called in the past and he soed the same thing everytime.. very rude and hangs up.

We (business) received a call today asking for our copier model number, after saying her name, I said, we don't have a copier (not true). She promptly hung up. The number was listed as "private". Very strange.

These guys are a bunch of scam artist's how the hell they are able to run a business like this is beyond me.  I have fun with them now when they call, I try to find creative ways to keep them on the phone and hang up on them.  On a serious note this is a huge scam warn your people about them, dont give out your fax number or address.

Once again these scammers are out in full, they said they were from copier services and wanted to update our copier information. Asking "what make and model"  I asked what company they were from and they hung up.  Be aware that the last time someone asked questions, we received a package of toner and a huge bill.

We received a call also from a "Traci", unfortuantely our company is not one that has caller ID, but she stated she wanted to update our information and wanted our model number and serial number from the copier, even told me where it would be located, (we had been warned of these scams, ) so I asked her to fax the information she wanted to us to the number she had listed, she hung up.  Not even a minute later, she called back, and when I told her she just called, she hung up again.  Be careful!

got a call from this number saying they are from MCS Programs. Anyone know anything about this company. they offer to lower credit card interest for a one time fee of US$690.00??????

I have received many of calls from 213-537-1095, 234-567-8900 and also from another number 000-000-0000 which also appears on my caller ID, it's all from the same company!  My dad has researched the number and found out that it is a company called Mutual Consolidated Services. He has a very effective way of getting these calls to stop.

1. He calls their 800 # 877-891-1348 or 800-943-3250.
2. He asks for Chris the compliance officer.
3. He tells Chris "Do not call my number! If you do, this is what will happen, for every one of your calls, I will call 100 times and bother you because you are bothering me!"

This is not illegal to do. It ties up their lines and it's makes him VERY angry!:mad: If he says he's going to call 18 division Police department, tell him he's full of it, cause there is no such thing!
And if you want to throw something else in there to make him know you're serious. Tell him Mike said HI!

This is a very effective way to deal with this company because my dad is not receiving anymore calls!

Called and asked to speak to the person ordering supplies for our HP printer.  Stated cartridge price went up to $289 vs. $259... I asked the name of company and then told her she could speak to me about it and she hung up.  I called that number back and no ring or no answer.
