Called asking for someone who isn't me (and who doesn't live here and never did) saying something about a case moving forward and debt and papers and needing to call within the next two hours "or else". Nope, sorry!

Got the same shpeal... They even called my mother in law asking for my husband! We don't have any debt that can legitimately be collected on so idk what it's in regards to!

Called asking for my sister saying they were working for cps and she refused to sign legal paperwork so to call this number within 2 hrs so that nothing legal happened to her..... Bs she dosent even live in tx or have children for any problem to have happened and who calles at 6 am in the morning.

The phone message said the caller was from CPS, which is Child Protective Services, saying that my mother, who does not live with me nor in the same state, saying that she refused legal documents and that I have 2 hours to call back. Now it's nice to know it is a scam. I did call them back unfortunately, but they already have my number, threatening to send them to the police, hopefully that gets them to stop calling.

Received a call stating from CPS (thought it could have said TPS wasn't 100% sure) stating that I refused to sign for some legal documents that was sent out (that never happened) and that I needed to call them back in 2hrs to have these legal documents sent out to me along with a complaint number that was all left on the voice mail as well ending the message with saying, "OR ELSE". Like wow, what a joke that is throwing such threats. This voice mail was left back on 2/25/16. I am going to take a big assumption that it is a scam!

Both my husband and my sister-in-law (in Iowa!) received a call from this number asking for me.  They did not say what it was about but left a case # to reference.  I contacted Springfield and the IL States Atty office.. there are no such legal documents.  I tried to look them up on bbb.org - again no results.  In early March, I actually received a call from an unknown number (this time I had not) and the VM threatened to charge me with check fraud! I freaked out a bit and did not use common sense, but instead called the number they left. The company was ARA and I spoke to someone from the 'legal services dept' who said I owed $750 from a loan I received and had not paid.  They did not know from when, who or the amount, nor did they know my current address (they had an address from 20  years ago), but they did have my DOB and SS#, so I thought they must be legit. Well they were not.  I tried to look up the phone number on bbb.org and nothing.  I did get a hit when I searched for the company though.  I also got many hits when I googled the phone number... people who said damn near the EXACT same thinghappened to them (like this comment form). Needless to say, I have filed a complaint via the Better Business Bureau (bbb.org) AND reported both numbers for Extortion on https://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/esor/spring/main?execution=e1s1. I hope someone will finally do something about these scam 'businesses' so this ends.

They called my mother-in-law 3/21/16 saying they were from a law office, would not give details but left this number. tonight i put the number into startpage.com (anonymous google search) and found this blog. thank you all for the great reporting to stop the scammers. they must be finding public records of people in family court and are trying to extort money from people.

A message was left at my place of work stating I should call within 2 hours before a litigation and gave a case # reference.  Made no sense to me.  Unfortunately I did try to call back but did not get anyone with whom to speak.

Same thing but they called my job. Scam. You are not summoned to court by the phone!!!!

Got a call on my phone asking for my mom saying the same thing. He stated "TPS" and gave a complaint number saying she refused to sign for the legal docs and she had two hours to reply. Awful....
