Someone called from this number.  It sounded like a foreign speaking person whose voice was muted.  He threatened a family member with Law Enforcement Action.  I investigated the call.  It came from LLC
Level 3  Communications, in LA California, a landline phone.  He said his name was Rich Walker from the Legal department of the U. S. Treasurey.  These people need to be caught and prosecuted for enpersonating the Federal Government.

We received a call from this number at 3pm Pacific today (May 21). The caller said her name was "Robin Smith", which apparently is a common name used by these scammers, with the "Department of Legal Affairs". Although her accent was very thick I think the scam was threatening a law enforcement action and something about having an attorney call. She concluded the call with "have a love day" (sic). I think a complaint will be lodged with Level 3 Communications to shut down this VOIP number.

I got a call today from the same no. They left me a voice mail saying that they are calling me from Legal Affairs. She had a thick accent and suggested to call with my attorney as well. what a scam.

I got a call from the number 213-814-3473 a Kevin Green with the Department of Legal Affairs stating that I was ignoring correspondence from the government for tax issues and we were cut off  so I called back.  The second time I got a person calling themself. Spencer.  He said it was due to tax issues for not paying my taxes and I could not now hire a CPA and that I would have a police officer arrive at my workplace and arrest me for up to 6 months.  I said we have filed our taxes every year and we have a CPA do our taxes.  They said they were just to notify my and I could expect a police officer at my work and they hung up.
My husband called the number back and started to talk to them about not calling our phone number and they hung up on him.

I received a call from this number by a person who called himself Kevin Green from the Department of Legal Affairs.  He said it was for tax issues and than we were cut off.
I called the number back and got a man named Spencer and he asked if I spoke with Kevin Green and when I said yes he gave me more information stating I had 3 charges against me due to ignoring correspondence to file taxes or pay taxes. He said that those charges are now in effect and I could not hire a CPA, but could expect a law enforcement officer to show up at my place of work and I would be arrested and could receive up to 6 months of jail time.  I told this Spencer that this was strange since I have filed taxes every year and that we have a CPA do our taxes.  He just said I can expect a law enforcement office to come to my work and than he hung up.
My husband called the number back again and told them that they had called our number and that if they call it again and they hung up before he finished talking to them.  Each person from this number had a heavy accent.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

They are located in India and Pakistan.  They spoof local numbers.

Called me also. Bunch of BS!!!

Call from Mr. Green asking for my ex-spouse.  Said their is a warrant out for arrest.  I wouldn't be surprised if it is true.

213-814-3473  I had a message from this number.  I called them back, and they wanted me to give them information, and I said, "you were the ones who called me,  you tell me what this is all about".  You have received final documents, and have not acted on them.  He said he was from the Department of Treasury, and I had filed my taxes wrong, and there was going to be some legal action against me.  He sounded like he was calling, from a call center from the middle east.  I knew he was scamming me, and I told him, "that's funny, I've already been talking with the IRS".  "Who the hell are you"?.  He said, good you will receive all of the documents then, and hung up on me.

Yes! That's exactly what he said in our message. So foul. Some people may not know it's a scam.

I got the same call from the same person's name.  Total BS

Received a voicemail that I needed to have my retained Attorney call them back.  Made it sound like I was being sued for some kind of debt or something.  I reported it to my local police department.

Total scam.  Read the other posts.

Had a voice mail message from 213-814-3473.  The man had a very thick accent and indicated there was a legal enforcement against my husband and we needed to retain an attorney or "it will be a big mess".  When he went to leave the phone number to call back, he said it was 213-814-3473, but then corrected himself and said 213-984-1661 and corrected himself again at 213-984-1667. Needless to say, we won't be calling them back.

"Kevin green" left a message for my husband today. He said he was from the Department of legal affairs and something about forced in action.  He  said to have a retained attorney  call back for the reason of the call or it would be a legal mess. He too ended with "have a blessed day". His accent was so heavy I could not understand him. He left the return number as 213-984-1661 but the caller I'd was from 213-814-3473.
 This is not the first scam call we received about the irs.

Richard someone with a thick Indian/Pakistani accent called.  Said he was from the Department of Legal Affairs  (of where, who, what?)  and this was a verbal notification of some kind of action that had been started against me.   He suggested I have a retained attorney call back or it would be a "legal mess" (wow, real professional terminology there Richard) for me.  He ended with "have a blessed day".  (aawww, how sweet, a god-fearing scumbag).  Wanted a call back to 213-984-1661. Caller ID was from 213-814-3473.  There's a special place in hell for these a**holes.

caller said he was from legal dept for govt. said he name was richard walker and there is pending legal action and I must call him and get an attorney...read the info on this # it is a scam call from LA how do we stop and prosecute?

213-814-3473 is the # the call originated from.

Got exact same call with same language-- my guys name was Steven Robinson--with an Indian accent! 😀

Got the same message. This is ridiculous. I hope people are intelligent enough to investigate before calling.
