- PhotoOp| 1 replyOf course only an imbecile would actually fall for this scam but I like to talk to scam callers, to see what's goin' on in Bangalore.
This call came from (213)-928-6387, supposedly in Los Angeles. A man with a very thick Indian or Pakistani accent told me "their service center" was receiving traffic from my PC whenever I logged on, and that their analysis showed it is infected with a pernicious Trojan virus. Fortunately, he offered to help. It seems a lot of people at that call center were helping other. It was so noisy behind him that he had to keep asking whether I could hear him. I could even hear other conversations. That trojan is running amok. Everyone with a phone has got it!
He walked me through some of the Windows management screens to browse warnings and errors and asked me to delete one, which Windows does not permit. This naturally proves that my PC is infected with a nasty Trojan, but don;t worry. I said he was going to help me. Remember? He asked me to open Internet Explorer and go to www.win32.us. I Googled, "what is win32 us" and saw newspaper articles describing the scam to get remote access to victims' computers. So I hung up.
But he called me back. I told him I changed my mind. He asked why. I said, "There is nothing wrong with my computer."
He said," So you don;t want me to help you?" He sounded hurt. Con men have feelings too.- Caller: service center - WIN32.US scam
- BigA replies to PhotoOpSo since a lot of the people that fall for this scam are elderly and don't have the computer savvy younger people do, then they are all "imbeciles"? So if your parents fell for this we could classify them as "imbeciles". Perhaps you should rethink that post, if you even put the effort of thinking into it before you wrote it.
- BigBri| 1 reply213.928.6387. Called ID: Michael Smith. Indian accent. Guy said he represented IT Solutions of Windows (no mention of Microsoft or particular OS).
Me: "I never heard of IT Solutions. Where are you located, sir?"
Him: [ignoring Q] "Yes, your computer is infected. You need to go into computer and search-" [I interrupted him]
Me: "Wait - how do you know my PC is infected?"
Him: "It report this to us."
Me: "Interesting - I don't remember having a control ticket ... it doesn't seem messed up."
Him: "I can assure you it is infested but we can help."
Me: "That's amazing - I am so glad you called. I would never have known."
Him:[sounding annoyed] "You must stop interrupting me. Be quiet so I can explain to you the steps to find infected files."
Me: "I'm sorry - it really is noisy there." And it was - some loud background chatter. I could make out this was a call center and another guy was making the same call, using the same exact wording as this knucklehead as per some script they were following.
Him:[rudely] "Yes - if you would be quiet and listen, I can have you open Windows and-"
Me: [interrupted him again for spite] "Wait a second - you're saying my computer is smarter than me, smart enough to call you guys because of something bad it found."
Him: "Uh, exactly. It report to us infection. Virus."
Me: "Ahh - it's so noisy there! Listen - you need to tell that loud guy in the background he must shut the hell up so I can hear what you're saying to me."
At this point, a long pause ensued with an unnerving SIGH, and the phone went dead.- Caller: IT Solutions of Windows
- jack martinThe phone # should be shut down. The caller claimed to be from windows and tried to get me to give him remote access to my computer. He was a fraud.

- I just got the call from this numberOn my phone his name is spelled Micheal. He spelled it wrong I guess. I kept telling him I could not understand him so put someone on that speaks English. I could not understand him, and finally I said I do not have a computer. I have been getting telephone hang ups.
- Caller: Micheal Smith 213-928-6387
- dawn replies to BigBriI got the same call from probably the same guy. But he told me to do a very not so nice thing to a certain body part and then hung up on me. I called the number back and someone answered "Hello". I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager. I said well did you know you have one of your empoyees telling women to do things to his body parts. He says, Ma'am we are professional. I said Professional at asking women to do those things? He said, we are not a scam. Bye bye. and hung up. Really?? Crazy people out there.
- joeytelthese guys are all scams. There is no way they can know if there is a virus on your pc. He called me a few times and Once I told him I don't have a pc and he hung up. The other time I asked him how could he see my computer and he knew I was too smart for him. all a scam.
- DeeGot a call from this same number (213-928-6387 Micheal Smith). Gentleman with heavy accent gets tells me "calling regarding my computer". I immediately interrupted and said my computer was fine and terminated the call. I called the Pennsylvania State Police local Department and they recommended calling the Consumer Protection Department of the Attorney Generals Office. That will be my next outgoing call.

- Carol| 1 replyMy mom got scamed by these people and they keep calling her and say very nasty things! How do you report these people?
- Slim replies to CarolHere are two pages of links to (mostly government) sites in Canada and the USA were you can report phone scams, or learn more about them.
Look here first:
https://800notes.com/arts/I2neMkbUAAo/where-to-report-phone-crime
If the reporting site you wanted is not in the above list, try this one:
http://phonehelp.2truth.com/complaint_sites_rev.html - FrankieDid not pick up but will report to federal Do Not Call complaints as my number is on that list.
- eman| 1 replySounds like they're changing their approach. I got a call from this number but unlike the others, it was from Raymond from "US Bank" (also Indian or Pakistan accent and very loud in the background as previous posters have noted) about the "loan" I applied for and "in order to transfer the funds," I "needed to call them." Of course I haven't applied for a loan and while I didn't call back, I am positive it's a scam.
- Caller: US Band
- LisaP| 1 replyCaller called, named Michael from Los Angeles. Told me my computer had a problem. When I told him I wanted my name and number removed from their calling list, he said with one condition. I told him no conditions to do it now then he said he did not have permission. I repeated my request and hung up. So much for do not call lists.
- Caller: Unknown - computer issue
- Yoda1725 replies to LisaPThat was foolish. Do you really think criminals abide by the Do Not Call list? Try something novel, like helping yourself. You always not answer calls when you do not recognize the phone number, or maybe get a call blocking device.
- StephanieThe man said he was receiving notifications from my computer that there was something wrong with my windows. Then when I told him there wasn't he got ugly with me, called me a liar and hung up.
- Richard-KNutjob saying he was Bob from US Bank asking me if I wanted a loan. At least I think that's what he was saying as he was obviously talking in a metal tank with 30-40 others talking on phones in the background. Told him I did need a bank so I could pay off Guido, my drug contact. Said I needed $10 million for the kilos of cocaine I had to dump overboard when the Coast Guard intercepted me. Odd - "Bob" hung up on me!
- Caller: US Bank
- Call type: Telemarketer
- SamThis is a beyond obvious scam. Left a voicemail (thick Indian accent like others have mentioned), "hello, this is Michael with US bank, I'm calling to inform you your loan with us was fully approved. In order to get the funds, please call us back immediately." Super noisy in the background too. Like, sure, what do you need? My social security number? Bank info? Yeah, no problem. Look forward to the money. Ha, so stupid. So definitely be aware of this, don't answer and block the number.
