- Michelle M ColbyWould like to be removed from this callers data base as I have received a call everynight from them for the past week. Their number is on my caller id. Please stop! Thank you!
- Lynn replies to Me| 2 repliesThe scammers are not getting your number from the DO NOT CALL LIST. Google your phone number...you will probably find it there. They are getting it from public sources...originally they got it from the phone books. Then when phone books went more digital, they just got if off the net. I have spent a few hours removing our name/address/phone number from many of the search companies like Spokeo, Google, White Pages etc. Some require that I PROVE who I am in order to remove me..now that just irritates me. They didn't ask for proof before they took my information and made it public. Anyway...that's where most of the numbers are harvested from. Then, when you answer a scam call, they log you as viable number and sell their "good number" lists to each other. My policy with telemarketers (recent one was siding and window replacement) is that if they are calling me, then they must be scammers since I am on the National Do No Call Registry and respectable sales people abide by that.
As for politicians..yes, wasn't it nice of them to exclude their political robocalls from the DNC list? CA Law says that robocalls must provide a live person at the start of the call and an opt out-- but guess what...I've never had a political call use either of those so they must be above their own laws they created. - Lynn replies to Current callerscammers don't care...they don't have a do not call list because they are criminals. When the cops get closer to finding them, they pack up and open shop in another little hole in the wall with purchased fake caller id numbers. If criminals followed the law, they wouldn't be criminals.
- Louisiana girlCalled showed wireless call in but didn't know # so didn't answer. Glad I didn't
- Jesse| 1 replyReceived call from wireless callin 214-283-1316. Did not answer but tried calling back. Operator answer saying this was not a valid phone number.
- EdDo not call
- Not so -- re cell phones replies to TraceyDI just got a call from this marketing resurce on MY CELL PHONE which is privet and unlisted.
- WHYWhy do people let the phone calls control their life, cause them so much pain. Look at caller ID if you are near the phone or want to talk. If you don't want to talk don't worry with answering. If your job is answering the phone then do so.
These people have a job that pays, be glad they are not on unemployment. Talk to them if you have time. If it's computer survey hang up. I've had some interesting conversations with some the people. If you want to practice for stand up comedy, they are a good audience. A few were legit, I always ask for information to be sent thru mail service. If you are just too busy, don't answer. You pay your phone bill it is your decision when to use it; they do the same.- Caller: 214-283-1316
- TW replies to Jesseno message, Ignored,
- OLSame story. I blocked them.
- Caller: Wireless Caller
- jetamesThe most amazing thing is that I have never been called from this number before NOW!!! I seem to be on every call list there is...had the same number for 19 years.
I just got the new wireless Panasonic home phone. It blocks 250 phone numbers. Works great and these [***] are now on the list - with room to spare! When the phone fills up (and it will), I will simply delete the oldest numbers.
For my office, I have the Digitone call blocker. This little guy blocks numbers and individual AREA CODES! I now have 21 area codes blocked. NICE!- Caller: WIRELESS CALLER
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Rodney Roo RooAssign your land line phone to forward to your smartphone. Then, train your smartphone to recognize the number that needs blocking. Follow up with giving that phone number a "silent" ringtone. It doesn't keep 'em from leaving a message. But, it keeps 'em from disturbing at a time THEY choose and simply holds on to any VM for discarding later. So far..............works like a charm.
- Caller: I don't give a flying [***] in a rolling donut hole.
- Call type: Survey
- SuzyCID said Wireless Call. I don't answer any of these types of calls. Only rang 3 times. They'll never get an answer here.
- Caller: Wireless Call
- Sick of them tooKeep a whistle handy and blast them. It really ticks them off which delights me after running to answer their harassing calls! A policeman told me this years ago in answer to an obscene caller. Otherwise, I've been told there's nothing that we can do because they are too slippery to be caught.
- another call to blockThey's back..."Wiresless caller"
- Caller: Wireless caller
- tupperHow about just don't answer the phone. No big deal. Set your answering machine to cut off after 2 rings. If it shows someone you would like to speak with call them right back. NEVER answer an out of state unfamiliar number. They can leave a message if it is important. Take charge and don't encourage these people.
- Caller: Marketing
- DakotaCall was a recording (I think it was a recording) stating they were conducting a brief survey. I disconnected the call immediately as my home phone (which I assume is what they called) had forwarded the call to my Tracfone and I didn't want to pay for minutes to take a survey that may not have been all that brief or even legitimate.
- Caller: "[No Name]" on caller ID
- Call type: Survey
- It IS ALL A SCAM FOLKS!It is a scam. Telemarketers are suppose to display accurate caller ID info. Wireless Callin? Seriously! They must also notify caller who they are and reason for the call. Wireless Callin? It didn't take me long to figure out that these people are cirminals.
They are criminals disguised as a telemarketer looking for personal information. NEVER EVER GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE. Not to surveys, political calls, not ever. That's the law.
BEWARE Scam call disguised as a telemarketer phishing for personal information. BEWARE BEWARNED and never give out personal information over the phone. Telemarketing scams are on the rise.
Also beware that scammers look for live numbers to sell to other criminals for future calls. Don't give them the chance.- Caller: Scammers disguised as a telemarketer
