I just received a strange call from a guy with a thick indian accent stating i was under investigation and that me or my lawyer needed to contact him immediately or else, the sheriff was coming to my home and workplace,I will be glad when the sheriff comes to his residence and locks him up!

It's a scam. Do not worry. They have nothing better to do then try to extort money from hard working Americans. I have been getting these calls for over 4 years and nothing has ever come of it. I have called the FBI, FTC, local Law Enforcement and there isn't anything they can do because the calls originate from overseas and they are using VOIP and are not able to be traced.

I have an air horn that I blow into the phone sometimes. I am sure there are some deaf scammers out there now. Depending on the mood I am in when I answer or if I answer, I let them sit on hold or hang up right away.

I received the same call today.

Very rude, tried to use scare tactics, extremely difficult to understand. I kept asking him to give me the Cause Number and the District Court it was filed in and he said that number was in the emails they sent me (ha, ha, ha - he probably doesn't even know what a Cause Number is!).

When I asked him if the call was being recorded and he said yes, I reminded him that he was required to notify me of that at the beginning of the call. At that point HE hung up!

received threats from this number..that the proper authorties was coming to lock me up for something i have not done...he was telling me that it was fraudalent charges on my prepaid card! what a crock of bull!! this mess has to stop!!! ive had enough of all these phone calls

First I was getting calls from a guy and now I am getting calls from a gal. I have gotten a way I can block through my cell phone service, So every time the call I block the number.

I received the same calls yesterday too! Its a scan and I hope someone gets them! I'm so tired of these people playing with my phone!

I just received this call that said I was under investigation for fraud due to not paying back a payday loan (I've never had one), and that as a courtesy they were letting me know that the sheriff would be out to pick me up for this fraud. I supposedly owed 8500 dollars for a payday loan lol. 1. I've never had a payday loan. 2. I have never heard of anyone being able to get almost 9 grand for a payday loan. 3. I am just glad that I am savvy and feel for someone who isn't as savvy and falls for this crock!!

Same, threatened that they are picking me up at work for unpaid debt.  Says they have a warrant.  Told me to call a lawyer, told him my husband is an attorney and said he is here right now, they hung up on me?!

Received a call from the same number, they left a message on my answering machine saying the same thing, asking to speak to my attorney. Said that we'd better not ignore the call. Said the minute we receive this to call back immediately. I'm sick and recovering from surgery and having to deal with this!!!

I was getting the same calls as above until today.  They actually called my work and stated that they would call my work back and have me fired unless I settled over the phone for some crazy amount of money

I got a call from this Indian guy today about the same B.S as y'all I just played along with him, be careful they are scammers.

I got the same exact call on 4-15-2013. At first it was some Indian lady saying that I had a lawsuit filed against me from some loan company that I have never even heard of or have never taken any loans out, then she transferred me to some Indian guy that I could barely understand. They knew who I was right away when I called them back some how which is very odd. Saying I was under investigation and that I would be arrested and picked up making threats. My husband took the phone from me and started talking to the guy and asking him alot of questions. The guy kept telling my husband that if he paid him $150 that he would talk to the judge and the prosecutor to drop any and all charges. It is a bunch of bull crap. I did not know it was a scam until I looked on here and found out that it has happened to alot of other people. These people need to be stopped. It scares me alot that they had my social security number and my email address. They need to stop hackers like that from hacking into peoples personnel files and getting ahold of the people's identities and everything else.

I got a call stating that the police was coming to get me if I didnt pay the amount of monry they said..

this number is from texas, they called me saying that i will get arrested for not paying back a payday loan i never even got.

i feel you i just receive a call from the same people.. i was scared at first...

Apr 18 2013. Needless to say I jusr got a call from these people saying the very same thing that I owed money for a payday loan that ive never recieved and said that theyed ruin my life...my job and my credit...some one should put an end to them

And they kept calling and the number showed up 3 different ways with added numbers or missing numbers so its a bunch of crap

I just got one too...I challenged him to tell me where said "payday loan" originated and when, and he couldn't provide that information.  What a bunch of crappola!!!

This guy called told me he had a serious legal issue to discuss with my wife, as soon as I said I was a detective with the sheriff's dept. He changed his attitude, this works every time. Tell them this is a homicide investigation and ask the reason he is calling, then ask his full address and name and how he knows  the victim, tell them to remain on the line so you can trace the call, they should not call back. Believe me this works.

Called and left a message for my late wife (who died of cancer last year) leaving basically the same threatening message.  Nice, I'm dealing with losing her then this guy calls and tries to harass me.
