Same with me today.  "Steve Martin".  Every time I ask for verification via snail mail, he hangs up.

We have received several reports from citizens in Pinole and Hercules of a caller purporting to be with the US Treasury Department and threatening citizens with a Federal offense if the citizens did not pay the caller. The caller gives the name "Steve Martin" and has an Asian or East Indian accent. Some of the caller ID have provided: 334-526-0032, 214-736-3219, and 360-200-0964 for the caller. This is a scam and do not fall for it. For additional information click on the link below. http://www.treasury.gov/about/organizational- ... rts_index2.aspx

Got the same call from 214-736-3219 indicating it was a second attempt to avoid appearance before a magistrate, judge, or grand jury for a federal criminal offense.  I started asking a lot of questions and they said they were sending the authorities to arrest me.  I told them to go ahead and do that and they hung up.

These foreign scammers have got to stop watching old episodes of "Perry Mason" on SKY for their legal phrases. But what riveting TV! I owed 50 bucks- Grand Jury investigates. But at the last minute Paul Drake hands Perry a piece of paper. I'm innocent! Then we all sit around & have a smoke to explain the plot to the clueless.

Received call that Officer Ryan from the US Social Security Administration wanted to know when my husband could come in so they could arrest him.  Of course when he said he was a detective from the County Police Department they immediately hung up.  hahahahah.  Don't think I'll be getting that call again
