Same thing. Calls continuously. The FTC, who I called, told me that once they get your number and know it is live, they sell it to other scammers and bingo, off they go!  Blocked.

This [***] have been calling my work cell for months now. the best part about this number is that you can call the [***] back. i do it about 2-10x a day just depending if i have time and i either make fun of his accent, YELL extreamly loud, use the air horn when he picks up, play some gay porn really loud and just put the phone next to the computer or anything else that i can think of lol. eventually my work will give me a new number i guess thats the only way to get them to stop calling.
i put my number on the national no call list and state and that obviously does not do any good.

    Going Crazy
This same person calls over and over all day from a different number. I received 45 calls yesterday and a text message as well. They started again at 7:53 this morning. All they say is I've been approved for $5000 just call and verify my information. It's old how do I make this stop??? Any suggestions?

What I do with all solicitors is store their number in my phone and attach a consecutive number to it. For example... I store them as "Sol1" (short for solicitor) then "Sol2" and so on. I am up to "Sol373" now! It only takes a couple of seconds to store the number but can save minutes of answering the call and/or listening to a VM from them. When one of these "Sol" calls come in I simply answer it and immediately hang up so it can't go to VM. So, instead of being aggravated by these calls, I now feel empowered because I have the upper hand of knowing it is a solicitor in the first place and then I get the satisfaction of being the one who controls the situation by answering and just hanging up on them!

That's the same kind of thing I used to do (called them .SCAM, with the dot in front so it would stay at the top of my contact list) but I assigned more than one number to each contact, since my phone could hold up to six numbers per contact.

If it's a smartphone, try looking for a call-blocking app in your phone's app store. They work really well: the one I have does what you do manually: picks up and hangs up right away, so the call doesn't even go to voice mail.

Take some action: Don't answer, for one thing, or pick up and hang up immediately.

ALSO, find a call blocker that works for your phone. If it's a land line, there are call blockers available, which you can find by Googling CALL BLOCKER. Your phone company might have a feature to block calls from certain numbers, too. Check with them.

If it's a smartphone, there are call-blocking apps in the Android app store. iPhones have call blocking built in, at least the latest ones do.

If it's a dumb cell phone, try setting up a contact called .SCAM (with a dot in front) and assign the bad phone number to that contact. Then set that contact's ringtone to silent. The calls will still come in, but you won't hear them. Some phones also have an option to send a contact directly to voice mail, which will eliminate some calls, but some messages might be left. At least you won't waste minutes on a call from the scammer.
