Ambetter automated customer support calls

Automated message claiming to be Ambetter, but they are OBVIOUSLY not Ambetter. Message asked me to call back 1-833-764-0377, which is NOT the official Ambetter number.

Are you sure it isn’t Ambetter?  If not, does this mean that our information was hacked and stolen from Ambetter???

No, it probably means someone is spoofing numbers trying to make themselves look like Ambetter.

While the 1-833-764-0377 is not the number on the back of the AmBetter insurance card, the TTY number that was left on my voicemail IS correct per the back of the AmBetter insurance card. Someone spoofing to gain information isn’t going to spoof one number and leave one accurate number. The automated message DID state that this was regarding health screenings to ensure longevity of better health. To put my own curiosities to rest I called back the number provided on my voicemail from my work line which appear on any caller ID as Unknown, since the number did not identify me, it rolled me to 24/7 AmBetter Member Services. When an associate came on the line I asked for a call back number in case we were disconnected as I was not providing my work number or extension as I did not care to be reached at work during business hours. The callback number I was provided in case of being disconnected was the number on the back of the insurance card. If this was a spoofer they would have provided the number they left on the voicemail, not a number I can verify by turning over the insurance card. Mystery solved.

they call me all the time and wont stop calling me even when i tell them no and they have the wrong number

I had a similar call to this a couple of years ago. If you call the 833 number, they want your name, address, and membership number. I then called the customer service number on my card and the agent said not to give that type of information out and that the call was likely a scam as the 833 number does not belong to Ambetter. I have no idea if it is Ambetter this time or not but I refuse to give this type of information to a cold caller--especially an automated one. I have never had Ambetter call me for information; they always send requests through email or postal mail.

It IS ambetter. They are calling to provide info about health screenings for you and to confirm current contact info. Helpful info except they call you until you respond. I responded so let's see if that stops them calling. You can apparently login to ambetter and update your preferences about if/how they contact you
