A parent told me about an excellent college admissions counselor in Pennsylvania they used to help their daughter complete her college applications and essays very successfully – she was admitted to an Ivy League university.  They found this counselor through a Business Week article comment where he criticized some counselors who charge $30,000 and $40,000 – while he is very reasonable and very effective - and gave some excellent advice. .  He signed the comment CollegeAdmissionsCounselor@yahoo.com and we found a phone number 215-884-9502.  We are looking for a college admissions advisor and are wondering if anyone has had experiences with this person before we call him.

Yes, we used him and received excellent advice, especially in choosing colleges, financial aid, and working with our daughter on her essays.  She got acceptance letters from 3 ivy league colleges!

We used Byron Goldstein and received excellent college admissions and financial aid advice too, he's very helpful, on the ball, was terrific in helping select high level universities and colleges, financial aid, and working with our son on his essays and how to interview and meet with college professors and admissions staff.  Our son got acceptance letters from four Ivy League colleges including Harvard, Princeton, Penn, and Dartmouth.

Boy there "Byron" you must be really desperate to have to come to a site that exposes scams to advertise.  But don't worry.  Your scam business will get all the attention you want, although probably not in a good way.  For a taste, according to Mylife.com you have some arrest records.  What is that all about?

If your kid is smart enough to get accepted into ivy league colleges, why did he need help with his essays or even in selecting "high level universities and colleges"?

This guy sounds like he is in the same business that the one that Lori Laughlin and her husband used to grease palms.

There is a good reason why folks turned to this independent college admissions counselor.  When our kids went to college, universities like Princeton had a ridiculous 18,000 or so applications for 1200 freshmen places.  Today, they receive about 30,000 applications for just few more freshmen places.  This happened in part because colleges like Princeton, Yale, Penn, and Harvard have such high endowments that students who qualify for financial aid, who might not have applied in the past, are now applying because these and other colleges provide grants, not loans, which do not need to be repaid.  That's a huge incentive.  And with so many applying to these colleges, students really have to know how to present themselves and express themselves well to be accepted.  No matter how bright they might be, often they don't really get how to apply to this competitive colleges.  And sadly, high school counselors don't have the time to really counsel all their students in the ways to be accepted.  BigA, you don't know what you are talking about.  This counselor is extremely highly ethical and does a great job with students he counsels.  They don't need to "grease palms" to get accepted correctly at very good colleges.

You know, if you want BigA to read your shill post you should have replied to him.
And don't bother denying you're a shill because there is no logical reason for you to be here, singing the praises of "this independent college admissions counselor", since you clearly didn't get a call from this phone number or you would have reported about it.

Well, we should have expected another visit by this shill, since it has been coming back somewhat yearly.  This time it seems to be attempting "damage control" (about 11 months late).
Google search shows there is a Byron Goldstein connected to this number which is also connected to the company Byron Goldstein Marketing.

Two sites report the business address as 2365 Geneva Ave, Glenside, PA 19038 (a residential building).
One site reports the business address as 222 N Keswick Ave, Glenside PA, 19038,  both Google and the signage on the building indicate the business there is "Charter Choices" and they provide administrative services to charter schools.  The list of employees on their website does not list Mr. Goldstein.  This number is not listed on their site.
I could not find a listing for Byron Goldstein Marketing on the BBB website.
I could not find any listing for Byron Goldstein Marketing (active or otherwise) on the PA DOS site.

Right, so how come this sleazebag isn't registered anywhere in the US?  Why is the company listed as an advertising agency and not a college advising agency?  Lots and lots of questions are remaining unanswered.  Why is that?  What are all these arrest records about?
