- AnonNo voicemail. Unknown caller.
- Dereksilence and no answer
- LisaNon-Stop morning, noon and night at the same exact times. I don't need my watch anymore. They are out of control. Does anyone know who this is and what they want????
- Caller: Unknown
- BWhen I answered it took about 5-10 seconds of me saying hello and then was automated stating my name and the call would be recorded. Hung up and they didn't call back (as if it were important).
- Sue Massiconstant calling, answer and 10 seconds still no one there, i guess a recording is coming on.
- JohnI called while they were closed. It's a company called TSI. From what I could gather, they are a company that buys homes for cash.
- Caller: TSI
- TSI| 7 repliesA last ditch collection agency pursuing bogus debts right before the 7 year statute of limitations expires on the debt. See the article "Paperboys" in the New York Times archives. They prey on disabled people quite a bit including those serving their country. The volume of calls shoots up within 24 months of the debt expiring.
- Caller: TSI
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigA replies to TSI| 6 repliesWell I'm not sure exactly what "7 year statute of limitations" you are talking about, since the SOL varies by state and goes from 3 years on up depending on the type of debt and whether it is a written or an oral contract. Were you referring to the fact that debt does not show up on your credit report after 7 years? Because that is completely different, and has nothing to do with a statute of limitations (SOL deals with the time they have to legally sue you in court). Maybe you should take the time to read and learn before giving out half baked advice you got off of your barroom buddies? Start here:
Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

FCRA: https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/sites/default/fi ... porting-act.pdf - TSI replies to BigA| 5 repliesThe AG does not get involved as a general rule and 7 years is an applicable standard. Identity theft and bogus debts are a significant industry. Best legal advice: ignore the calls until 7 years elapses. The debts as a general rule never appear on credit reports because that would bait an AG lawsuit - that's why they play the telephone game. At least with the latter, some impressionable people pay.
- BigA replies to TSIThe AG does get involved, and I would be willing to bet that every State AG has a page on their website detailing illegal collection activities and what to do about them. Also there are many cases of State AG's going after debt collectors. But if you are referring to a particular state, where the AG has come out and flatly said that they will not get involved, then you must reference that AG. As to the "7 year", I stand by what I wrote, as you obviously did not take the time to go to the SOL link I provided to see that you are wrong. But since I have posted my proof of statement, you are welcome to post proof of your statements to rebut me. Debts do appear on credit reports, and that would not necessarily "bait an AG lawsuit" (which by the way would conflict with your prior statement "The AG does not get involved as a general rule"). You obviously want to believe your barroom buddies legal advice instead of taking the facts presented to you with the proof that my statements are correct. So good luck dealing with these crooks, but stop giving erroneous advice here, as future posts of that nature will be reported to moderators as misinformation.
- Resident47 replies to TSI| 3 replies} 7 years is an applicable standard
Applicable to what, please? I'm not aware of a seven year SoL on any form of consumer credit in any state. BigA has already referred to the FCRA standard of delinquent tradeline reporting, which a great many people constantly confuse with the issue of stale collection lawsuits.
The "best legal advice" does not arrive wrapped in blanket statements. Seven years under the weight of a derogatory tradeline can be a very long and costly time to simply wait around for expiration. That credit which is not denied comes at a premium, often based on lies which consumers frequently need a judge and a lawyer to help erase. The four or six or eight or even fifteen years creditors might have to sue is also too long for sitting on your hands as your rights are ignored. Surely you don't want us to think that only a state attorney general can raise disputes and enforce the FCRA, FDCPA, TCPA, et al.
Now if you wanted to say that TSI -- the company and not your alias -- doesn't bother submitting to credit reporting agencies, that is not easily confirmed or denied. So let's start again with basics. If you have some access to data we all lack, it would be awfully nice if you'd discuss the business location, the full business name if that's an obfuscating acronym, and point us to any handy collections of existing consumer complaints. - BigA replies to Resident47| 2 repliesHe responded to me within a few hours the first time. Since I told him to "put up or shut up", I'm guessing he decided to shut up since he hasn't been back. I just love people that want to argue, even when faced with the evidence that they are wrong. I didn't recognize the initials, but I'm also guessing this TSI is one of the debt collection scammers?
- Resident47 replies to BigA| 1 replyThe acronym is new to me and nothing matches in my agency crib notes. I only noted that "TSI" was initially entered in both the alias and "caller" fields yesterday, like that wouldn't confuse the readers as much as the person's remarks. You'll see up there the same acronym was reported a month ago with an unconfirmed and maybe conflicting call purpose. Maybe someone will help fill the gaps.
- BigA replies to Resident47I have to update my report on them, actually completely redo it because they keep changing names, but this is NCO/Transworld systems. It says so on their website: https://www.tsico.com/contact-us/
- New Jersey residentHas been calling non-stop for days. When I answered they wouldn't say who they were but asked for my ex-husband. They hung up quick when I informed him of that.
- Caller: Wouldn't say
