Courtesy call from Rumpke Waste and Recycling saying your bill is past due.

I called our local Rumpke and my bill shows paid. It was paid 2/7/17 and I am getting calls saying it is not paid.

A female calls, and asks for correct first name, but ask for wrong last name. No one here by that name

I got a voicemail, says it's Rumpke, to pay my bill by calling other number 1-800, or go to Rumpke's website.

As others have said, it's a collection agency for Rumpke (trash pick up.)  I told the rep I'm not paying anything more than what my current billing statement says I owe, which doesn't show any past due balance. My bill is paid on-time every quarter via auto pay  Very sketchy.

Or it’s a scammer knowing 1/20 people they call will have forgotten to pay their bill and give them a credit card

Called me with the amount I owed from Rumpke, sounded legit. Gave them my CC info then asked for employee identification so I could write it down (should of done that first), he couldn't give me any so i hung up and immediately cancelled my card. Seemed sketchy

seemed legitimate and had the normal fee of Rumpke Recycling with the 2.95 fee and then gave me a reference number but then when I started to ask a follow up question, there was a loud horn sound and disconnected.  That made me look up the number that called me and said possible fraud so immediately called my bank and cancelled my card. Seems like they may have hacked Rumpke Recycling somehow as well to have access to their data.
