This number called me and asked for me by name and when I said this is they hung up.

This number keeps calling . Do not leave voicemail.

Called, left no message

Called my cell phone three times today.  I didn't answer, they did not leave a VM

same with other replies ... calls and leaves no message

Calls and hangs up. When I call back I get a busy signal. I sent a text to this number reading........ F U

Called but left no message. Based on other reports I am blocking this number.

Person said they were with the American Disabled Veteran's Network & wanted my address to mail me a donation packet or something along those lines.

I don't give out personal information unless I initiate the call.

Called my cell phone, I didn't answer and no message left.  So either not important or just another scammer.

called wanting donation        I said I didn't have any money  right now    Hung up

I got a call just the same as john. They said they were American Disabled Veteran's Network they wanted my address and asked if i can make a donation of $50 for red $35 for white and $20 for blue packages. They said 3 days I'll get a package in the mail to send money. But when I answered they asked for Joe. I told them wrong number but they said Thats okay I can  donate. Sketchy as he'll.

It probably another rip-off similar name organization (a take off of the DAV). Collecting money to line their pockets and giving very little to anyone else. If you have too much money give to a known recognized  local charity so you know what your donation is doing.

i get numerous calls from schetchy numbers and all i did was get an online quote for auto insurance!! i even registered 2x on the do not call list!!  these companies should be penalized for giving out your info!

Same thing.  Asked for Catherine.  I bet it's voice recognition and if you are female it asks for Catherine and if you're male it asks for Joe.  I asked if I was talking to a computer and it said, "Actually, you're talking with a person and I'm using a computer for quality control."  mmhmmm  CLICK

They called me and hung up before i could even get to the phone, then immediately called back, only to hang up again as soon as i answered.

Called while I was in shower and could not answer.  Thanks to all you posters, I know this is not a call I ever want, so I have now blocked the number.

Only legitimate businesses respect the DNC list, scammers do not care.  Cell phone numbers are dialed randomly so don't let paranoia about people giving out your number be a part of your thought process.

Called and asked for Elizabeth. Told him he had the wrong number. Then he said ok, but maybe I could help and then started his spiel for a donation. I told him no, I could not help. He was polite, but this was the 2nd time someone called from that number asking for Elizabeth and then went on the same.

What you SHOULD know, though, is that when you answer these calls from suspicious numbers, you CONFIRM that you are a 'live' potentially gullible person and that they can 'SELL' your now CONFIRMED number on to another POS and do so at an increasing cost.

... maybe the crooked telemarketers pay nothing for their number "lists" because they use autodialers.
