Received a call from a very sketchy organization who refused to tell me who they were and refused to provide documentation of the mysterious debt, such as a signed contract. Kept referring to their "client", but refused repeatedly to tell me who their client actually was. I requested that they mail me documentation, as I do not believe it is my debt. The guy on the phone immediately became enraged and argumentative and began to yell and infer various legal threats. Also, a couple of days ago they called me and spoofed the caller ID to make it look as though they were calling from the local police department. This is not a legitimate debt collections firm and more likely something slimy, fraudulent, and 100% illegal. Don't buy into their con job!

Called claiming to be from “Sedgwick and Associates” which oddly is close to my employer name. Threatened paperwork to garnish my wages were being filed if I didn’t make a payment. Asked for documentation they claimed it would be emailed but never received anything. They do not have a website to contact them either. They claimed I owed for check into cash which I called and no one could verify me in their systems. Check into cash said it seems fraudulent! Ignore these people!!

Of course it's fraudulent. A real debt collector would mail you proof of the debt when asked. A real debt collector would know emails isn't a legal method of debt validation. And a real debt collector would know they have to take you to court to have your wages garnished.
Block and ignore such calls.
