Caller claiming to be the IRS want me to return call. They say my address is being investigated and they will take my home and bank account.

There is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Received a call this am- caller ID read that it was from Cleveland Ohio and the number was 1-216-539-4567. Automated caller stated that I was to call this number related to Hotline for IRS, as there was a problem.  I hung up and reported the scam.

This number called me trying to scam me saying they were the IRS.

They left a message (robot/computer voice) on my answering machine, claiming to be from "IRS" (not "the" IRS), with similar scare mongering about my address being under "State investigation" and property and bank accounts being at risk unless I call back 216-539-4567.

I had a message from 216 5394567, 11/24/14 10:55am, saying they were the irs and
I should contact them or property and bank accounts would be seized??????

Caller says they are the IRS and would sieze home and bank account.

did exactly the same thing to me twice yesterday. said the state was investigating me.

I just spent 15 min with the idiots on the phone. Complete scam! By the end he told me that cops were on the way. Call your local police and report it. It's fun to make these morons angry on the phone. Don't pay attention to it.

I did receive the same phone call saying that I need to hire a criminal attorney regarding IRS felony and hang up on me I called back and he hung up on me again

If you don't pick up, they're too craven to leave a vm. I believe that Publisher's Clearing House sells names to these criminal organizations and that they use the names that they buy to go fishing for suckers. They are mainly targeting older folks who are more trusting and less cynical than other people who have been exposed to these sorts of vipers with no morals and/or brains; unable or unwilling to find honest work.

The DNC list means nothing to these losers but I would avoid contact with PCH by all means. I'm pretty sure that they are behind the proliferation of the harassment calling scum.
