I just got called by this number on my house phone and I tried calling it back. It said the number wasn't in service. Okay?

I just got a call from that number, tried to call it back.  The operator said the number was not in service and to check the number and call again.  Did that and the same thing happened. How can they call if the number isn't in service?????? This is very annoying..

"Vehicle Processing Department"--they pretend to be associated with whatever make your car is.  Scam.  Avoid at all costs.

This number has called a few times. When the answering machine answers the caller hangs up. So I called this number back and a person answered the phone and said  "Vehicle Processing Department", how may I help you? THen I hung up. Not sure if it is anything, but I am leary of this caller. Do not wish for them to call me anymore. It's starting to feel like a scam or trying to sell something. Either way, I would suggest avoiding this caller.

Just another illegal telemarketing call.  They want to sell you an "extended warranty" on your vehicle and pretend that are affiliated with either the vehicle manufacturer or the dealership where you bought the vehicle.  Expensive and good luck actually getting payment for supposedly "covered" repairs.
