Just received the following text message:

I did some research to try and find out if this was legit, since I randomly received this and don't remember requesting or signing up for this.

I found out it's (of course) a mobile device operated by CELLCO PARTNERSHIP DBA VERIZON WIRELESS - MN* registered to TWINVALLEY, MN and/or the Caller ID seems to be Fargo, MN**

I went ahead and replied with STOP and received the following response:
FREE MSG You have opted out
Text CANCEL to restart

I've decided not to block the phone number unless I continue to hear back from (or same ad from other numbers) this number.

Received same message from same number and have no clue why

I also received the text.  And I don't use any pharmacy rewards programs and the plan is not anything related to me.

I received same info (sent via text from 218-350-0353).

I'm on the "do not call list," which should be modified to prevent texts as well.

my guess is they are testing the system to see if the phone # is valid, and whether they can use the submitting phone # in the future as a channel to flood cell#'s with bogus spam-scams. if the text does not bounce back then it is a valid phone # as (of course) landlines don't accept text msgs

This is an automated robot that is sending unsolicited text messages. If you interact with it in anyway they will definitely sell your information and try to hack your phone later

Received the same text today from phone # 218-350-0452.  Called # and Verizon reported it changed or no longer in service.  Must be a scam

I received same text 10 minutes ago. It's good to know that I can simply reply with stop.

I recieved the same text from the number +1 (218) 350-0452 So I decided to be a bit rude. I knew it was fake as I had not singed up for anything. I did a reverse phone trace to the last known location the phone was used at and got this: 3811 160th Ave, Twin Valley, MN 56584

So I sent the person their address and told them to never text me again unless they wanted the police at their front door.

Got the same text msg today.
