Received this call with an attached multimedia message last week, then this week someone was sending text messages from my phone with attached multimedia messages (as confirmed by my provider).  Phone has never gone missing or been stolen, so this leads me to believe the multimedia message was a virus or something.  

I recommend that you check with your service provider that your phone has not been compromised, particularly if you opened the random multimedia message upon receipt.

Just received a picture text message from this number, Subject: Windows Love Messenger Contest. Deleted it as well.

Same here, just recieved the same message from "Windows Live Messenger Contest" .  Deleted the file as well.  If there really is a contest, they would send it to my email instead of my phone (which i never gave my number to them)

Recieved a picture message text from this number, after reading what everyone else said I deleted it before downloading the picture. Under description it said : free text message from <enter service provider here>.

The number belongs to Scott Halstead, 445 Arch St,Salem, OH 44460, but I am not really sure why mutlimedia messages are being sent to this number. It happened to me too.
