I received a call from a company called Chawla Technical Support (833-661-7666 ext.1014) and they told me that the phone call that appeared to be from Microsoft was a scam and they proceeded to tell me that they needed to check my computer and remove anything that was left on it and they charged me $299.92 and gave me a year contract.

You were swindled & your computer is now corrupted. Take it to a trusted local technician & have it thoroughly cleaned & checked out. All of your financial info. should now be considered compromised as well.
