    Bootstrapped?
My call display showed the above number on 2 separate occasions. I picked it up both times and nobody on the other end. Concerned (with all the technowizzes out there), I was worried that somebody could somehow bootstrap my phone number and then talk to their friends in outer space with me footing the bill.  I called my telephone service provider and was basically told "too bad, so sad", but they couldn't do anything about it. Next time, I don't pick it up.

The number, as it was identified on my end Actually read: ~234-567-899~ as you can see, this is a "Nine" digit number so I'm just confused. I figure sequentially it would read 8901 right? But instead it was, 89 and then another 9 withOUT a FOURTH Digit??!! What the Heck? I'm sure there's a practical explanation. That is I think so. Maybe? Wierd! I received "two" calls on one day and "One" call on another day. I Did NOT answer only because I simply "missed" the phone ringing.

Actually, the number that called me did not have the last digit "0" but I could not leave this message with out complete 10 digits. That is obviously a bogus "Spoofed" number so I blocked it anyway.

I picked up the phone but did not answer. Someone kept saying "hello." The noise in the background was that of a call center. The phone number looked up on Pipl lists at least three people with the same number who live in different states. This is obviously a spoofed number and the caller an unethical telemarketer violating the no-call list I am on.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
