I got a call from 240-348-6504 and it was an automated voice of a lady providing a verification code(not sure of what)

It was the verification call from whatsapp

Everyone in this chat is saying that is a verification call from What's App, but I don't think that is so. I do not have What's App, I have never signed up for it, and it did not have a message when they called (they immediately hung up). I think this is spam, and I think the people posting in this chat are not being misled.

they may want to ask you the verity code of your whatsapp and try to hack it

It showing whatsapp code ...but I don't think ...it is ...
It may be spam or OTP for other  site which can be harmful for  one's data and  privacy ..

Got same call sounds like someone counting in different language.

I got texts from this number saying it was a verification code for What’s App. We haven’t used what’s app in years. I blocked it from this number and then they texted from a text number (one of the 5 digit ones). It’s all a scam. Or someone trying to get my info.

Please explain how receiving an unrequested verification code, for an application that you do not have an account with, could scam you or even get "your info"?

I got a text from that number inviting me to chat on Whatsapp. I don't have Whatsapp. The text claimed to be from an actual friend that I talked to a couple days ago. I knew it was not his cell number which prompted me to search it online, which landed me here.

Same thing as mentioned by "Joe" from Sept 7th 2026. Text message.
