- SickofScammers| 12 repliesVery annoying! This number shows up as several headings in caller I'd. They start at 7:15 am calling as Milford, MI and then switch to a V# and later as Out of Area! Used one of my 30 blocks from Spectrum on them!

- NoInfoWas getting calls for someone not in our household from San Diego, CA since 3-28. Tell them he does not live here but they keep calling. Number from CA was 619-354-6305. Today got calls from the same man (could tell by the same foreign accent and incorrect way of pronouncing name) from Midland, MI per caller ID 248-216-1536 asking for same person. Total of 15 calls in 6 days!

- Sam| 1 replyMidland Collections is very fancy name for bunch of low life collectors that use gray area tactics to collect 25 to 35 cents on dollar for an old or statute expired debt that they bought in bulk for about a nickel an account. The caller is not interested whether or not you've settled already, or even it is your debt. Why? Because the floor supervisor is riding shotgun on the callers to produce, and worse, without actual collections, they make less than a hamburger flipper in Burger King! If you want to get these guys off of your back, get with your state authorities. The ambulance chasing legal division knows all the tricks to get around the Feds!

- Brandy| 5 repliesThey called me before 9am on a Sunday for someone I don't even know. The Fair Debt Collection law states that no debt collector can call on Sundays, and before 9 am on any other day. I told them that if they call again, I will refer this matter to a contingency based attorney that will sue them for $10,000 per phone call I receive from them(which are the federal guidelines).
- BigA replies to Brandy| 3 repliesWell, someone else who doesn't have a clue as to what the FDCPA says because they didn't take the time to read it. FDCPA rules state that a DC may call between the hours of 8am and 9pm your time. There are no days of the week that are off limits. No attorney can sue them for $10,000 per call since there is no statute that would allow that, certainly not "federal guidelines". But, if you want to prove that there is, you are certainly welcome to provide a link to said law, since I will happily supply links to prove everything I have just written:
FDCPA: https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/documents/pl ... actices-act.pdf
Now, in addition, here are the links to both the CFPB and State Attorney General web sites where you could also learn about the law before giving such poor and misinformed advice:
Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I used to work for a CC company, and that was a BIG LAW we had to know about. Even if the customer asks you to call before or after those time, you still CANNOT do it.
- BigA replies to tinad| 9 repliesEither you only did collections in that time zone, or you failed to pay attention and/or understand what you were told. Calls can legally be made from 8 am to 9 pm in the time zone of the recipient of the call, unless state law says otherwise. Calls can made 7 days a week, 365 days a year. If the debtor agrees to calls outside of those times, then the calls are allowed. I would suggest you take the time to actually learn before posting. You can start here:

- Ken BowlesMilford Michigan caller calls 7 times each day with no one on the other line
- Caller: 12182161536
- NoelleCalled my son's phone today, he ignored it because he didn't know the number. He doesn't have credit cards. He had one car loan that was paid off last year, and one other loan that is always current so has no need of going to collections. This call must be from a scammer.
- TTipI have received numerous calls from that number. If they are a true "bill collector" one would think that they would leave a message and request a call back.
