    A Google search turns up a few companies that could have a Caller ID that would read "MAXRESINC"; a Real Estate company in California, a company dealing with resins on the east coast and (based in the post by "NZ") the most likely suspect; a company named "MAXimum Research, Inc." which deals with marketing research (aka surveys).  Companies doing surveys do not tend to leave messages, since they want to get spontaneous responses from the people they call.
