I received a call from this number on my cell phone at about 9:30 am.

I normally do not answer numbers I do not recognize, but only did so because the caller ID said Michigan and I am expecting a call from somebody in Michigan.

The person on the other end of the line had a heavy accent and was very hard to understand.

He said his name was David and was "calling about the status of your computer."

I immediately hung up as I am certain this was a scam attempt.

Call received 1/27/18 with Seychelles in caller ID readout. Didn't answer and no message was left. After reading this board, I blocked the caller. In addition, beginning in mid-2017, more "hacker/prank/robo/hoax calls" have come from # beginning with my three digit exchange that follows after my area code. These are all "hacker/prank/robo/hoax calls". Things are getting more aggressive. Wish there were a way to send all calls not in my contacts directly to voicemail or my Google phone #!

Got the same call the last 2 days. I told them I knew it was a scam and they started making threats. "Your IP address is hacked and if a hacker did something illegal with it you are to blame. You don't want to go to jail, do you?" When I told them I know none of that is true, his manager started yelling at me and calling me ungrateful saying I am "wasting his precious time". Absolutely a scam. pro-tip: no one from apple or microsoft will EVER contact you to fix a computer problem for you. EVER.

Scam caller. Don't pick up.
I'm on the do not call list so someone should taking this people to the cleaners legally. Big big fines.

Computer virus scam

received a call at 1:56 PM, 01/31/2018. However when i tired to call back Verizon indicated that the number is international and i don't have international calling plan

Caller ID is just showing "out of area" - and he gave me this big scary story about how my firewall between the PC and the internet was not secure and that I could be hacked at any time. Knew immediately that it was bogus, told him we weren't interested in anything that he was selling, he interrupted me and again tried to scare me with tales of my PC being hacked. I told him the owners were not at the office at the moment and he'd have to call back this afternoon. "Oh this is a business? I must have dialed a wrong number" and hung up. :-/

Guy called - says our firewall has been hacked ... scammer.  When receptionist said she'd be glad to take a message for the IT Dept., he said 'oh this is a business?' and hung up.

Called my work number and hung up. No voicemail.

Number called office line today.  Didn't answer, no vm was left, saved as Spam contact for future CID.

Landline - SPAM !!  Forwarded call to my lawyer and the FCC.

Scam. Need to report this guy to authorities. I am sure he scams older naive people out of money with his fake computer scam. Told him I was a security engineer and he was a fraud and i would tell authorities. He asked me what i was going to do. Indian guy who didn't seem very sharp.

Well there ya go, your perfect chance to do some good in the world by reporting them.

2/4/18 11:40 AM - Caller ID showed Detroit Zoo, but it's likely the same scammer calling/spoofing from other numbers telling us that our firewall has been hacked and they can "fix" it for us.
