I received a call from this number asking me to confirm my address, and when I asked them to repeat it to me, and I would verify, she got all pissy with me, and wouldn't do it. Said that they weren't allowed to, and that I had to tell them. I said no I wouldn't be doing that, and she hung up on me.
ANNOYED.

Just call them back and harass them thats what i did they got really mad and hung up i also accused them of terrifying a small child with their calls its all recorded so maybe that person will be fired.

hey guess what no one here owes you any money your job is to harass, bully, threaten, and generally do whatever else is in your power to try and collect on behalf of the actual company the debt is owed too. Are you also aware that there is nothing you can do to collect a cent from anyone as the debt is not owed to you and you are probably one of several companies trying to collect the same money, how do you sleep at night after spending all day saying horrible things to people.

I just called consumer help and they advised me that if i faxed a letter stating...please be advised i am not the debtor(which i am not) and there fore directing you to remove this number from your contact .  they have to abide by that or they could get in trouble...

im really embarrassed to talk about this but this company is totally legit regardless of what u people think ur rights are ur probably wrong, these people have rules they need to follow and they DO follow them, i was recently taken to court by this company even having filed numerous complaints about them to the ministry i came to find that they are in the right and all of their calls are recorded so dont be dumb and try to lie about ur conversations with them cuz they used mine in court! i now have 365.00 payments being garnished from my wages and going to my credit card bill that is being handled by this company

This is a collection agency.  You may not think that you owe them money, but likely you have some un settled debt with another company and that debt has been sold to Aro.  They are a legit company and abide by the laws.  I worked for them briefly and they are just trying to do their job, they are not bad people.  Collecting is not a fun job and that's why I don't do it anymore.  Unfortunately with the economy it's necessary.  If they have the wrong person, and it's not you they are looking for just let them know, save yourself the aggravation.  If it is you they are looking for - you probably DO owe the money you just don't realize what company you originally borrowed it from.

I'm a young teenager. I have no credit accounts or online sales in my name, and yet daily I get calls from this pone number on my cell phone. I swear, one more day and I'm going to my cell provider.

However, there have been articles about teens and younger getting their identities/SSNs stolen, as they are clean of any legal or debt action.  You may want moms and pops to check your SSN on the annualcreditreport.com site (NOT freecreditreport.com as this place signs you up for credit monitoring) and be sure no one has opened accounts in your name.  Good
