Got a cell phone call from a company called Advanced America Collection Agency Said I owe $1,000 but they would settle for $800

They called and left a message that they were calling from "Legal Mediation" about fraudulent checks. They tend to use different business names and words like "Legal" and "fraud" to scare people. I just block them from calling me.

Received a phone call from this phone number today as well on my cell#-tired of this kind of call.  It will be reported to the DNC listing as well as the FTC; I don't know anyone in NC.
They have also called under this phone # as well 252-557-4034.  Add this to your list to report and watch for.

did not get a call from this # to begin with but....good scam. got a call from 619-600-0089 .. they said they were from mumble expsess carrier had a package to deliver    i hung up knowing i dint have anything ordered. called back from this # and said they were trying to transfer me to the "office that sent the package"   guess what? scam city was the return adress adress. so want to let everyone know there game has changed

Got the call from the 619 area code too saying that they had a certified package that was a subpoena. Connected me to the 252 number. Sounded like a total scam. I even checked my residence and they said no one tried to deliver anything for me. Not to mention I don't know anyone in California or North Carolina

I hear you! I get calls every other day, turn them in and nothing gets done ! You block there number and they just call from another . I don't even answer . I wait then google the number and BAM ! Another fraud call

Yesterday I received a call from an Aurora Colorado number (720) 262-3104. It was an automated message from a courier service stating that I had missed a delivery. I stayed on the line and it transferred me Kate Logan with Legal Mediations. She told me I was being sued for an online Payday Loan made between 2011-2012 that was deposited to an old bank account that had been closed for several years. She said she represented Business Marketing Group. She wanted to get current address. I did not give it to her but started asking for more information on the "alleged defaulted loan". She couldn't give me specifics other than the amount owed $1125.50. She gave me her call back number (252) 216-2741 I asked for a company address and she gave me a PO Box number! PO Box 11092 Rocky Mount North Carolina 27802. To prove the "validity of the debt" she gave me the IP address the loan was made from (which turned out to be somewhere in San Jose). After talking to her "supervisor", who again tried to get my current address, I was told they were going to forward the case to their FOG department and call me back. It all sounded very fishy to me.

I keep geting calls from this number (252-216-2741), saying that I owe $1,043 and they can settle for $261.00. I hung up. They called back about an hour later with same information. This time they said they would settle for $483. Both times the person on the other end, said their was Kate. She must not have remembered calling the first time. When confronted about trying to settle for two different amounts, I was cussed out and she hung up. They say they are a business called Litigations. Asked them for the number on their business license, she hung up again. They also say that they are in North Carolina, but their payment processing is in Florida. Don't fall for the crap that are trying toeddle.
