Unwanted Call

After a long delay, someone asked for the contact name they wanted to speak to that owns this business and was told that person doesnt work here, but I told them I can get them to call them back. By telling them they arent there, they would want to know when they get back or what number to forward their calls to. I simply tell them they no longer work there and I can get them to call them back, that gets further information of another number to call do information about. Then they left the following number to call back to... 877-252-1152. They said it was North Carolina Department of Revenue.

877-252-1152 is probably their collections department.

GOT CALL FROM ncsg its.  they left message to call them back, we have nothing to do with anyone or business in North Carolina.  Gave us a 1-877-252-1152.  We are also on the DO NOT CALL LIST.

called my cell phone # 3 times an never left a message, when i call back it says it is the n.c. dept of revenue and then the phone call ends and it also say they are open from 8-5 and i got 2 calls after 5pm.

They called me too! Never got a message though...

It's the NC Department of Revenue. They were calling me about an overdue sales tax return.

Numerous calls received over several weeks, with no voice mail message left, and no caller or automated message on the other end when I answer.

I recieved a call from NCSG its Caldwell. It was shortly after 8:00am.  I actually missed the call, but they called again. I aswered it, mainly because it was a local number. They asked for someone that does not live at my residence. # 828-496-2465

It is the North Carolina State Government Income Tax Service

This is a legit phone # for the NC Dept. of Revenue.  It is known as our callback line.  If anyone has any additional questions, they should call 877-252-3052; the main #.  We do understand that there are many people out there doing wrong, but if anyone receives a call to call this # back, (877-252-1152) they should call DOR as soon as possible.

Started calling my house around 3:55 AM...thats right AM in the morning. Our caller ID showed every missed call. The first time it went to our answering machine and there was weird foriegn talking. They proceeded to keep calling back 3 or 4 more times. My husband answered it everytime to get hung up on. Our caller ID showed NCSG 1-336-322-8662. Its bad enough to get calls from companies or organizations at times, but at 3:55 AM and 5 times in a row...is uncalled for.

No Message. Caller unknown.
I called back and got an automated VM system for Duplin County Elementry.

I should have mentioned, the phone number is different than the one listed on this page.

I got a call from this number.  The first time like all pre-recorded messages, I simply deleted it.  The next time ... same.  The third time I thought I'd check this out.  I've read on other sites that the first thing they do is ask for your SS number and then probably the second thing they do is steal your identity.  I don't think so.  

If you're not sure then go to the dep of rev's website at http://www.dornc.com/aboutus/phones.html and call them from one of their listed numbers (better yet google the website for yourself).  If they say this number is legit then complain that it's not on their website.  See that's the whole reason I believe this is a scam -- that number they give, 1-877-252-1152 as of 11/17/09 is not listed there.  That's a nuclear red flag.  So call those listed numbers on that website instead.

Fine, Revenue Employee -- prove me wrong, make me look bad, and list that number on the official website!  Then we'll call it and give our SS numbers....

BTW, you want to know the real clincher?
On the website, "Live telephone assistance is available to answer your questions between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday excluding holidays."

On the phony message, they claim they're open
"Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8am - 7:20PM
Wednesday, Friday 8am - 5pm."  

If you're going to scam some people, at least research the hours of operations, lolz.

But still ... I would call one of the numbers listed on the official website to be certain and not completely ignore this message.

Those doing wrong are you sir...the NC dept of revenue.  Let us run our businesses and work to put food on our tables.  Inch by inch you creep into our lives and businesses to steal what you can of our hard earned money so that you can feed the ever growing greed of the government.  As you in fact are thieves, I think you are a despicable people and I trust that each day of your work life is a miserable one.
