this number call my cell phone (253) 244-9443 claimed to be IRS, they  threaten callers with arrest unless you pay money.

Called and said they were IRS.  I asked for their agent number and they hung up.

they have been calling me for days I finally answered a minute ago. Said that they were the IRS and I have a lawsuit against me they wanted me to give them info for a criminal lawyer. I was like.......  what lawsuit are you talking about then I began to ask a lot of questions one of them being where he was calling me from and he got a little agitated..........lol. I was like what is this lawsuit from and for he started calling out areas in MD where I have never been, lived or ever done business at. So I kept on with the questions he got even more agitated even gave me a attitude....lol said he had to talk to his superiors and he would call me back and hung up. I proceeded to call back the number but it kept going to voicemail. BE AWARE.

253-244-9443 called my daughter this morning claiming to be the IRS and telling her that her car would be seized and her bank accounts frozen and that she would arrested if she didn't take care of her outstanding balance today.  I called to follow-up and he answered the phone "IRS" then hung up on me after a couple of questions. We then contacted Inspector General for Tax Administration at the IRS at 1-800-366-4484 as per the IRS.gov web site.

Yes My client just received a call today at their home.  I returned the call and the guy answered IRS he said he was in the Tacoma, Washington office and gave me a 4 digit Agent #.  LOL  ANyway he could not give me any information without me giving him my clients PHONE NUMBER.  SCAM!!!!   I did report this to the IRS Fraud division.

Everyone, if you get a call saying they are from the IRS.  Hang up and call the IRS at 800-829-1040.  If you do owe taxes, call them and make a payment arrangement.  They are happy to work with you.  NEVER pay someone who calls you!  An IRS agent does not look up your information by your telephone number, only by social security numbers.

Received phone call this morning from the agent in Washington - a state that I have never lived in nor done business in. Phone went to voicemail and to return it less the balance goes to federal and then threatened with arrest.

Was tempted to call back just to mess with them but realized I have better things to do with my time. Please be aware that, like Tax Accountant said above me, the IRS would never look up information by a telephone number.

When I called back the mailbox claimed to be full.  I knew then it was a scam.

This is a Nigerian scam group! I have reported them to the IRS and the FBI who will out them out in no time!!

This is a scam.  I received a phone call on 2/10/2015 and again on 2/11/2015 from 253-244-9443 claiming to be the IRS in Washington DC and that a tax fraud claim had been filed against me and that I needed to call that number 253 244-9443 before I was arrested.  They are trying to scam money out of the people they are calling.  If you receive one of these calls, report the call to the Federal Trade Commission at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1

I received a call from the above number and they told me to stay home and in 45 minutes someone would come to my house and arrest me and once I was behind bars they would tell me what I had done!

My 19 year old son got this call today twice (In Washington State). He does not owe the IRS he's hardly even worked! lol Scam!

So glad I found this (and similar sites) so I could find out this was a scam. Anyway after reporting to IRS hotline I called the number back and yelled at the guy. Yes, yes, useless but thought would make me feel better. He proceeded to call me a [***], a women who makes her money sleeping with me, and a $2 [***]. So, yes, now 100% sure this isn't the irs ;-)

Well I got a call from this number today.  The man said in Indian accented English that he was from GE Capital and if I wanted a loan to call him back.   Yeah, right.  Don't hold your breath.  You're not getting your hands on my bank account.

Claim they want me to call to claim my $7000 grant. She could not tell me who they were or agent number nor anything.

Received a call from these folks claiming I was being awarded $7000 to use any way I wanted.  Said it was because of a government research done on the different demographics.  Haha.

How can i report them they claim to be with the government
