Do not speak to these people.  They call stating they are the IRS and are calling about a fraud claim against you.  They then say that a warrant has been issued for your arrest and they will also tell you that your driving privileges will be revoked.  They give you badge numbers etc.  They mostly have foriegn accents...like pakistanian or indian...but the recordings are usually an American voice.  They tell you that you must pay a certain amount of money immediately or you will be arrested.  They do not ask or accept your credit/debit card...they want a wireless payment.  These people are professional scammers.  They know the right words to say to scare you into believing that you have filed fraudulent claims on your tax forms during certain years.  PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:  1.  The IRS will NEVER call you on weekends.  2.  The IRS will NEVER, EVER threaten you over the phone with arrest etc of any kind!.  3.  The IRS will never call you regarding fraud matters - they will ALWAYS notify you by mail if you are being audited.  My cousin responded to these people and in total fear, followed their directions and went and got the wireless cards and lost $600.  When she called back to ask a question after she paid the money, the phone number was disconnected.  They had blocked her number.  Please don't fall victim to these scammers!

Indeed, the call is automated voice recording with synthetic voice, the message says it's Ron Gabria. They call themselves legal department of IRS in Washington and its obviously not Washington DC. Thanks for the post and IGNORE them! I wonder if there is any legal way of catching these scumbags.

Comes out of Tacoma WA. I called back and asked to speak to the person leaving fraudulent IRS impersonation messages. They quickly hung up.

I received the same call Today saying all the same things as stated above. They are very convincing.  They are definitely a scam.

Sounds exactly like a call I received this morning from 253-244-9296 (amazingly close and also in WA but probably just a Google number from somewhere else). I also would like to share that the CBS online news reported this earlier today http://www.cbsnews.com/news/alleged-debt-coll ... tc-illinois-ag/ which shows this is becoming rampant.

Seriously, are people that stupid that they just do what they're told??? Spam caller, I reported them to the FCC.

Received a call from this number on my wife's cellphone...I answered it they hung up.  If you call it back it automatically puts you on hold.  Definitely would say scammer.

Received a phone call today from the same number. Wouldn't tell me who they were at first and wanted me to confirm SS number without identifying who they are. Went on to say that I had fraudulent student loans, which is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard since my student loans were done straight through the VA. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY OF YOUR INFO!!! SCAMMERS!!!!!!
