Recorded message said to call a certain # to get $9,000, which they said was for a grant. I have never applied for a grant. The accent of the recording was American, but some parts of speech were wrong.

Message identified caller as Lieutenant Michael Sharp with Pierce County Sheriff Civil Process unit and gave a case number. I called the civil process unit at their online listed number and was told the case number didn't match their format and they had no one of that name working there. The caller was very convincing, no accent, business-like voice you would expect from a sheriff's officer. When I called the number the message was very convincing as well.
