- NitaWhen I anserwered the call from 1 256 447-9486, they asked for a specific person by name. I thought I had previous known a person by that name, however later realized it was by first name only. I question a timeframe of the dates for which they were trying to contact the person. When they told me January of 2007, I did not have my cell phone at that time. So either they had been given the wrong phone number or had documented it incorrectly. She identified the company as "Allied" from Houston Georgia, which I think mostly was Warner Robins area, Houston County, Georgia. Apparently a medcal collections agency. She said she would remove my number from the "Listing".

- GeoffWhen I answered the phone, a recording came on saying that "Barbara" was trying to reach me and to press 0 to speak to her now. When I did press 0, another woman answered and said her name was Eve and could she have MY phone number. I said no because she had called me. I asked for the companies name and she said "Allied", I asked for their address and she refused and requested my phone number again. I told her I would not give it to her especially if I was unable to establish that this was not a legitimate company. She put me on hold for a few minutes then came back on and gave the address: PO Box 640 Houschton Ga 30548, then she hung up. I tried to call the number back and it is always busy.

- BarbaraI have got a call from that number at least 10 times with an automated caller. What's going on?
- susan littlei received a call from this number, asking for my son. I thought it was for a job interview because they asked specifically for him. He has NO outstanding medical debt. Who are these people?????
- Caller: I don't know
- EmilyI live in middle Georgia and know that 256 is NOT a Georgia area code. They are misrepresenting themselves if they say they are from Houston (pronounced How-Ston) County, Georgia. Warner Robins and Perry are the two cities in this town. If you have not had treatment from a hospital or doctor in either of these cities or in Georgia, I would ask to be put on their no-call list.

- Mary JohnsonI do not have any medical bills. I filed chapter 13 bankruptcy and any medical bills I had are on the bankruptcy.

- Me too!!This is the second time they have called me within a year. The first time they called, I had them send me more information on what debt they were trying to collect. Several weeks later I received a plain white envelope with a basic "invoice" in it...no letterhead, no contact info, etc. for an x-ray I had several years earlier that was PAID for by my insurance company. I even called the out-patient location I had it done and they said everything was paid for either by my co-pay or the insurance company. They didn't know who Allied was. When they called today, I told them to take me off the list. I think it's a scam because they only ask for $20 or so, if I remember correctly. Most people would just pay it to have it gone becuse it's such a small amount...not like a $100 or more.

- Kim JohnsonNot thinking I just gave these people my # because they called me. The second I finished saying my number they hung up and when trying to call back the # is always busy or immediate disconnect. Now I'm freaked out
- Caller: Allied
- TsmithRude, all they will indicate is they are ALLIED, bill collectors attempting to collect on debts that have already been paid.............this is total scam, 256 is not a Georgia area code......do not give these people the time of day and report them.
- Call type: Debt collector
- tjmSame story as all of the above....these people are rude, elusive and have past Paid medical bills they are trying to scam or scare you into paying small fees for their gain. My son had medical problems and it took us all year to pay for the debt we racked up but nonetheless it was paid when these scam artists started hounding me and when they asked for documentation of payment I would not give it to them because I believe it was to access my financial info. I stopped getting the calls when I threatened to report them!

- Zora| 1 replyThese people are a medical collections company that operate out of Hoschton, GA which is in the northeastern part of the state near Chateau Elan and Braselton off of I-85. They do medical collections for Childrens Hospital. The debt they are calling me about is legit. I cannot pay it right now. This is not a scam. They have also sent me letters in the mail which match my original medical bills. I wish I could say this was a scam, but it is not.

- Zora replies to ZoraI wanted to add that the area code they are calling from is NOT a Georgia area code. The address is in GA though.
- JayThey called and a recorded message said "we are calling in relation to business you may have with our client. To be connected, press 0" I pressed 0 and was connected to a lady who said "this is Barbara, can I help you." I said that they had called me, and she asked what number they called. I refused to give her my number since they were the ones that had contacted me in the first place. She said "someone will be in contact with you," hung up. I have no outstanding medical bills like some of the previous commenters mentioned- especially for a childrens hospital. This stinks of scam.
- Caller: Hung up- would not say
