Answered the phone no one there, happened three times in past week.

Received a call today and back on the 8th of january

No message left.

got a call today 1/16/08, no one there, called back abd it a company called Telstart Telemarketing.

My caller said MOD and I haven't gotten calls from them on this number and also on these numbers:  202-243-7449

They call at different times, early morning, late night.  It makes no difference to them.  WHO is this and what do they want?????????

Same as above--Same numbers, except ours never says MOD, but the city they are calling from.  We don't answer numbers we don't recognize, but still a nuisance.

Starting about a week ago our home phone has been receiving long distance calls that, if I answer, is dead - nobody answers. Typically each day I get one call in the morning and another evening, both from the same number. The next day it's another number from another city. So far the following are some that have been recorded on my incoming phone log:
410-849-4038 - Annapolis, MD twice
502-716-5489 - Louisville, KY twice
703-649-2714 - Triangle, VA twice
305-777-9791 - Miami, FL twice
202-243-7444 - Washington, DC twice.
I am on the "do not call" registry since the program started, yet these don't ever get to a sales pitch as they end up as a hang-up.

I have called a couple of the numbers back and typically it's a recorded message claiming to be the March of Dimes, but that could be bogus. Any ideas???

Thanks to all the above for listing these numbers. We started getting these calls from two of them so I blocked them all using selective call rejection from our phone provider. I think it is telstar telemarketing calling on behalf of march of dimes.

I have been getting calls from the same numbers as Ja and Gary plus this new one from Philadelphia (267-519-4003) I have received calls from 19 different numbers. I check my caller ID before I answer. How is it that I am now getting more calls than ever since the Robocall law went into effect Sept. 1st?  We are supposed to be getting less calls. Fortunately, I can block them on my phone, but the phone still rings once before it blocks the call.  How can all these calls be from March of Dimes from different cities?

We started getting calls from this number about a month ago. They are calling 3 or more times a day. We are on two no call lists and this caller is still getting through.

I've been getting about 10 a day, all from different area codes, with different numbers.  But the Caller ID says "MOD"  March of Dimes for sure, cuz they've been calling also.

Received a call from this number before 8 this morning! Caller said they were the March of Dimes.  We are on Do Not Call list, and they have called numerous times before. I asked them to STOP CALLING US.

I never answer  On caller id had the word  mod

Does anyone know, if you block a call, what does the caller hear?

There was no message, but 202-243-7444 showed up on my caller ID as "Member Alert."
