This number keeps calling me informing me that my cell phone usage is being monitored for improper usage and saying that they're going to send out a warrant for my arrest

They keep calling me saying they will file a case on me but when I called back and said I will call the fbi they hang up

I am getting the same threatning call from this number.

i just received a call and i let it go to voicemail. they said i had a case and they will contact my employer, but they do not use my official name. totally a scam.

They have called every day for the laat week threatening to take me to court. I also need to contact the "plaintiff" total hack job

Same here but they used a digital voice to say my name. The minute I advised them of my lawyers name, they hang up

I get this call at least 4 days a week for the last 3 to 4 weeks...

Received a call from a completely different number from this one, but the voicemail told me to call this number to respond. They said I was "involved in a [presumably legal] matter" and this was my "official notification" about it, and "failure to respond will result in forfeiture of rights." Total scam, obviously -- very vague, never used my name, didn't seem to know that I'm unemployed -- but I came here out of curiosity.

The caller ID shows 870-677-3944 but the message said to call 201-216-4301. It is a scam do not bother to call back, they want to scare you ''...you are currently being investigated for several matters....we need to verify your address and place of employment..."

Called and left call back number, 270-216-4301. Caller ID listed number as 870-677-3944. Figured it was a scam and blocked the number.

Lol! Lame attempt to scare gullible people. Just a scam where some robocaller throws together a bunch of scary sounding legal terms like "plantiff" "serve" "investigation" "formal notice" hoping you will call back and give them access to your bank account.  As someone who works in the legal profession, I can assure you that if you are being "investigated for several matters" by a law enforcement agency, you are certainly not going to receive a call informing you of that fact. Also any law enforcement agency is going to easily determine your employer and address without having to ask you directly. And, you can't be "served" notice of legal action over the phone, process serving is a very formal that has to be done in person, or in some jurisdictions, by registered mail.

Same message but from diffferent numbers. I have been getting these calls for the last 5 years. So tired of them. I have never taken out a payday loan but that is what they claim I owe. I wish these losers would go away.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question.  As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes.  The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question.  Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else.  So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you.  Let the FTC sort it out.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

Received a call from a different number that left a message to call this number. Both numbers on my phone come up as scam or fraud. I will not call them back. Thanks for everyone's post.
