This is FedEx, they were calling me about a legitimate issue I was having with a shipment. They called to arrange delivery. Not a scam number.

Received a call from this number in Mississauga demanding payment for duty fees. (Michelle)
It was suspicious, and could not provide or relay my personal information back to me.
I ended the call, and they phoned back within minutes from British Columbia. (Michelle)
Although they claimed that the previous caller was her friend "Jessica"
Once I realized it was again suspicious, they quickly ended the call.
Seems to be a fraudulent system if the caller cannot relay your information, until you tell them.
Might as well call your random neighbour and reveal all your personal information.
If they can trust their drivers to have a formal encounter and exchange the package.
Why can't they allow secure transactions to take place at the same time?
Instead they'd rather call and demand your personal information without confirming a reference point.
Also, I was only notified within the 24 hour delivery period.
Might as well hold my package for ransom - lol

This number just called me and I didn’t answer. I don’t answer numbers outside the BC area, *especially* numbers from Ontario. Checked out front to see if there was a package but I didn’t order anything so there was nothing.

This is a scam. They have called repeatedly about a package that I didn't expect, receive or order. It was a strange call where they asked about details of my mailbox location, etc. I probably gave them more details than I should have, as after speaking with them, I started looking into things further. They called and left a callback number of 1-855-828-5309. I searched that number and couldn't find anything, so I called FedEx directly.

The woman at FedEx confirmed that there are no 855 numbers for FedEx and this was a US number. She advised that if FedEx was calling, it would be an automated voice and to NOT provide any details or answer this call. This is a well devised scam.

Scam! FedEx isn't going to charge an additional fee because of the virus. Block and ignore such calls if you can.

Called to update me about a missing package I reported.

I first received a prerecorded call from a different number than this telling me that it was FedEx calling regarding duties owing on a package. I HAD recently placed an international order and was awaiting a package, but it prompted me to enter my credit card number. That didn't sit well, so I hung up and decided to investigate later. Several days passed, then a live woman called me from this number, also telling me I had to pay FedEx for the duties owed on my package and asking for my credit card number. I asked the woman if I could pay online instead. She said no and added if I wanted to pay the driver when the package was delivered, I could. I told her I preferred that and she said the package would be delivered that day. Two more days passed without my package arriving and I looked up its tracking info only to discover it's not even in my country yet and isn't due to be delivered for another week! Smells rotten to me.

That doesn't mean all calls from this number are from FedEx since scammers frequently spoof legitimate phone numbers.

My phone system blocked a call today from this number.  Caller ID name was "Fedex Toronto".  The call was to my FAX line.  I'm in Ontario, but not in Toronto, I'm blocking all calls from the 289 area code.  We do have a fedex account, we do ocassionally get calls from fedex (account reps making customer care calls) but those are from 8xx toll free numbers or 416 numbers.  We haven't shipped anything for a couple of weeks, our last shipments were all delivered, not expecting any fedex calls.
