- cece| 1 replySomeone called using this number stating that they were from the United Breast Cancer Fund (UBCF). She solicited a donation by sending out an envelope in the mail. Once I stated I would contribute $30, she wanted me to expedite my payment via credit card. I informed her that I do not give personal info over the phone. She stated that payment by check would be my decision but would hold up expediting the needed funds. She asked me to verify my name and address. I stated that her organization must have it already because the initial caller called me by my name. Anyhow, she played a recording that stated my name and address and asked me to verify any changes. I didn't know that this was a possible until after I checked my phone log and saw the number was listed as SPAM? 301-298-1369. Waiting for the envelop to come in the mail and will go from there.
- Caller: United Breast Cancerr Funs

- SandraA call from this number comes in on my LANDLINE number and I always let it go to voice mail. They then leave a PERSONAL SOUNDING GREETING using my first name. The female voice says, "Sandra? Sandra? are you there? Sandra?" So don't pick it up even if they call your name in question fashion... "Sandra?" because they only want you money.
- Caller: HAVE NO IDEA BECAUSE I REFUSE TO ANSWER - LET IT GO TO VOICE MAIL
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Gilligan replies to ceceNever give out personal info. over the phone to anyone who calls you for 2 reasons,
1) you have no way of verifying the person's identity and
2) you cannot verify the name of the organization they claim to represent
And by not giving out personal information over the phone to some one who called you, will help protect you from being scammed or worse, a victim of identity theft.
