When I answered a call from this number, a lady asked me "Are you Robert M..."? When I said yes, they replied "Thank you, have a nice day" and hung up.  So I read this website, which helped me understand.  Then I remembered that I had written a personal check to Home Depot... I gave the check to my mom so she could buy a lawn mower.  So I immediately called my mom, who (as it turned out)was at Home Depot that very minute.  She said that Home Depot didn't have me on file as a known check writer, and she had no ID for me, so Home Depot called Telecheck.  So in this instance, this phone caller seems to be just an identity verification service.

They are the customer support group for merchant accounts. They are not a collection agency.

My god, sometimes you guys need to take the tinfoil hats off for once. For crying out loud. And Jeff H.. take them down? lmao... why? They are a legit company.. Authorize.net is one of their VAR providers that they use in conjunction with their merchant processing.

Its FIRST DATA MERCHANT SERVICES.  If you accept Credit Cards at you business, you are doing business with these SCUMBAGS.  I would rate them as the NUMBER ONE WORST COPANY to deal with.  They operate on deceptive practices and illegal collections.  They will call and hound you as much as ten calls a day until you want to slice your own throat.  If they are calling you, I highly recommend that you CALL AN ATTORNEY because you will be needing one.........

this is First Data credit card processing, we have used them for years they call to just do regular check ups etc... if they called you its by accident or you have old customer number

This is a collection company. Even Googling the # will take you to an authentic looking website. They are trying to bait you. Beware.

You are correct.  It's First Data.  I don't recommend Wes as a PI.  CID is easily spoofed and even at that a phone call is not enough to steal your identity unless you give them all your personal information.  You'd be better off educating your grandmother on not giving out or "verifying" any personal information over the phone or clicking links in emails she gets.  These cretins prey on older people because well...they're just more  likely to be coerced into providing information out of fear.

got a call i do have merchant processing thru first data and wells fargo , seemed legit but left a message saying to call a diff number , everything is normal on my account so i have no idea why they would call

Call was from First Data to respond to a claim I had in regards to a gift card I purchased. The call was legit.

Received a call at 1:20pm 7/14/17.  This is the third or fourth call from them.  I do not pick up and left a message saying they are from Wells Fargo Merchant Card Services.  I have not contacted them yet.

Caller said she is from Amegy Bank, re: pay easy account.

Called my job They asked for my info accidentally gave it out totally scammed! Don’t anser them

Scam call, they were also spoofing a business number. Filed a complaint with the FCC and FTC.

Claimed to be calling from merchants services for TD Bank.

Just received a call from 301-745-7000. I have YouMail to filter out unknown calls. My caller was legit - she simply left me a message stating they received my fax of a Shell Gift card with a damaged magnetic strip and are mailing my replacement card out tomorrow. Her callback number was different than this one. The main number is probably the parent corporation’s. I can’t recommend YouMail enough.
