- Lee replies to DonGot the same message a few minutes ago.

- malo| 2 repliesJust got the same message from the same "Eric Foster". The call sounded so phony just on the face of the call. (When he stated IRS, he must've meant the India Revenue service) If you get a call from this nitwit, do not return the call.

- N Serna replies to maloI just got a call from this Eric Foster. First and foremost, the IRS will send correspondence by certified mail. He wreaks scammer.
- RickMy dad, who is 85 years old, got a call and called me about this goon. He wanted 834.00 wired to him within the hour. Said he was from IRS. Phone # was 301-812-4171. If I find him, I will hurt him.
- KathyReceived 2 calls today from this Eric Foster saying there was a serious lawsuit against our name. Doesn't sound like an American to me. Will not call him back as I'm sure it is a scam. IRS would send me a letter, not call me.

- JeremiahI got a call from this number, it is most certainly a scam. The guy states his name is Eric Foster and that he is with the IRS and that there, "Is a series lawsuit being filled against me and that if I did not pay the sum of 2,175 by 60 minutes, the SHerifs office would have a warrant out of my arrest". He threatened me and even had a phony, "911" dial me in. I was told that I either paid within the hour or I would have to answer the 911 call and be forced to talk to the Sherifs department about it. I answered the phony 911 call and it was yet another Indian guy claiming to be a Sheriff Deputy. He then continued to threaten me as well but ultimately put me back on the line with, "Mr. Eric Foster". I googled the number they were using while I was on the phone with them and found all these comments. I instantly hung up and them and after an hour they called me back. I answered and told them off. Do not believe any of this non-sense people, these guys are seriously out to get your money.
- Mike| 1 replyGot the same call today. He must be trying to get as much as possible in as short a time as possible. If anyone is from Maryland(area code 301) contact a local TV station or two and get this guy a job doing time.
- Caller: IRS?
- Call type: Prank
- Mike-in-MD replies to MikeSince they are operating from a foreign country, most likely India or Pakistan, all local TV can do is run a warning about these scammers. There have been reports on several of the local media outlets' websites and broadcasts. You can report this scam here:
http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml - HRThis is most definitely a scam! My wife just received a call from 301-812-4171 from an "Eric Foster" with an almost unintelligible Indian accent. Claimed to be from the IRS, needed $1,200 within the hour, or a sheriff would come out to the house and arrest us. Sorry, dude, even the IRS doesn't work that way. Go crawl back into what ever dark hole you came out of!
- JRI just received a call from this scammer too. Says his names Eric Foster but there is no way he has such an American name with that accent. Making threats about IRS investigations. RIGHT! He says "this call is for you". I'm pretty sure if the IRS is looking for me they would know my name.
- JoyI just received this call too. Thanks everyone for your support. This guy sounds so unprofessional
with his scare tactics. He should get arrested. - TeeGot the same exact call. This scum bag left a message saying actions would be taken against us. That we would be flagged forever or some bs. I didn't call back. This guy is a scammer. I don't even owe any money to the IRS
- J from ohioJust received same phone call from Mr Eric. Scared my granny half to death. When I tried calling the number back it won't even go,thur. Wished I could slap, him for scaring my granny.
- Jim BThis guy Eric Foster called claiming to be from the IRS. His message said that I was in serious trouble with the IRS and I should call him at once. THIS IS A SCAM!!! The IRS first notifies you with a registered letter. NOT A PHONE CALL!!! This guy sounds like he is from India not the USA. Just Be Aware!!!!
- Caller: Claimed to be IRS
- Another victimMy husband missed a call from this number from someone with an African Accent identifying themselves as Eric Foster from the IRS. When my husband called him back Foster was threatening stating that there was a law suit against him and the police were prepared to arrest him. When my husband refused to give Mr. Foster his name stating that he just missed his call and so he should know who he is, Foster became even more belligerent and threatening. I then came online to see if there were others who had the same experience. I am grateful for your posts to clarify that this is indeed a scam. Do not know how to make Foster stop. However, having people post the scams helps to get the word out. Thanks again.
- Caller: Claimed to be IRS but clearly was not
- PEThanks everyone for posting. I just received the exact same message from the same Eric Foster guy. You all confirmed to me what I knew anyway. I wasn't about to return the call...ive never heard this tone from any collection call...ive even had to work with the IRS to get back taxes paid...and they are nothing but polite and never make you feel harrassed like this. Plus the caller ID from "Owings MD" is a big clue, you would see an IRS caller ID.
- Caller: laimed.to.be.IRS...but NOT
- HRJust got ours an hour ago. I saw odd number on the caller ID, so I did not answer. It came from Owings, MD. I have family in DE but their cell always comes up as unknown. It was the same "Eric Foster" that left the message. Here is my issues. I was a paralegal and have worked with many attorneys over the years, it is completely fake. He only mentions YOU! They always refer to a person when they leave a message. I also have tons of cops that are friends. So if he tried to call again, I will just ask him if he wants me to get my friend on the phone that happened to be one of the heads of a local police department, and see if he likes me then. lol

- boMy wife got a call from this bum! He is stupid enough to leave a voice mail!
As many here have said, the I.R.S. will send a letter.
Do not return the call. I would report this to the I.R.S.
