- Lancaster, PA| 1 replyReceived a message on my cell, which I don't give out, about a temporary hold on an account. I called them back at 302-255-8888, they couldn't find my name in their system, so they asked for my social security number. When I declined to give it, they thanked me for calling and hung up.

I just called 302-255-8888. This is in fact Barclay card services. I do not have a Barclay Master Card. I spoke to Lori who said they are aware of a Phishing scam using their name and number. She advised that you DO NOT give them any information. She also advised I call my current credit card companies and let them know I keep getting these types of calls.- Caller: They say Barclay Bank
- EileenI've gotten two robo calls from a credit-monitoring service about "my" Barclay's MC having a credit hold on it for suspicious use (I don't have any account with Barclay's), the latest from 877-991-7855. The message also gave 302-255-8888 as a backup number. I called the toll-free number after a minute when no hits after a Yahoo search, but it was disconnected.
- Caller: regarding a Barclay's Master Card
- MidNYteStormPeople should be cautious of the information displayed on caller id and anything else these operations claim to be. There are far too many telemaggoters pretending to be a legitimate business. Instead you should contact the issuer through the number on your card or on their statement/website. It is not worth risking being scammed.
- diehardThey're back! Toll free 877 988 5553 of 302 255 8888. Checked my account online and no issue. When you call and they can't associate your phone number with your account and then ask for your account # - HANG UP!
- Caller: Fake Barclays Card
- Imnosucker!I'm in Los Angeles and I just received a call and let it go to voicemail. I didn't recognize the company and glad I saw these postings. Thanks everyone! Not that I would have called them back anyway much less given my SS#. My bank alerts me immediately and directly.
- ValientThis is a scam April 11, 2015 Voice mail message on my cell phone. Says my Frequent Flyer card account is on temporary hold until I confirm activity. The call came from 866-467-4713 and the massage says if calling from outside US call 1 302-255-8888. Calling either number gets an automated response asking for card number or social security number.
- LoriI am so grateful for all of these posts. I just received the same message as others have reported. Before making the return call, I decided to look up the number on the internet. These scams are so upsetting. My guess is a lot of elderly people fall prey to these criminals fishing for identity information.
- Caller: Barclay Card
- KI also just got a call from this number. Since I didn't know the caller, it went to voicemail. The message left said that it was from the fraud department at card services (nice that there is no bank name given), and that they were calling about my dividend miles reward card, that a temporary hold may have been placed on my account and that I should call them back to verify. They listed the number as 877-470-1057 (which is out of service) and gave 302-255-8888 as an alternate number for those calling from outside the US. They also mentioned about if I manage my account at barclaysus.com. Absolute spam. I do not have an account with Barclays and this is clearly a phishing scheme.
- Sgt RogersThis scam just phoned me and 2 minutes later 3 members of my family. When I phoned back I received the same as all the above. Funny as soon as I stated I was with State Police I got the Click.
- Caller: Barkclay cardservices
- NatApril 20, 2015 got a call on cell from 888-201-1173 message that i should call about fraud on my Barclay account. I don't have a Braclay account. Tried the 888-201-1173 number, got message not in service. Called 302-255-8888 to see if someone would pick up and the woman that answered was very hard to understand. I hung up! #SCAM..
- PennyI was told to call this number by an automated call that was a seriously garbled recording. It claimed it was the IRS and that the issue was time sensitive and that legal action would be taken against me. I receive so many calls like this that I just ignore them now. I have no intention of calling the number. The IRS does not contact people in this way.
- Caller: IRS
- MatthewThis is the international collect call number on the back of my SallieMae/BarclayCard Mastercard credit card.
- Caller: SallieMae/BarclayCard
- Sue B.I have been getting these calls for over 2yrs now. This time they got me. I called the number back from caller id. Thinking it was Barclay bank gave birth date and last four of SS # and was telling them if they called me one more time about a card I put in bankruptcy I was going to sue them. After reading these comments I now realize what happened. The number is a spoofed number from scammers. What I don't understand is how they got information that is very personal. I was thinking Barclay sold their customers info, especially ones that filed them in bankruptcy and now those people are harassing me even though I no longer owe it to them. I hope the law catches up to these people and exposes who put them up to this. They got this information somehow. I did ask for a manager and her employee id number. She gave it ticric, which is weird because it doesn't contain any numbers. Now I feel like an idiot. I really am usually smarter than this but this group of people are really good.
- Caller: Barclay bank
