To start, I am on the do not call registry.
Lately calls from both sales people and Robo calls have become so numerous that rather than not pick up at all I decided to pick up the call  and put it on mute.  That way I can determine easily if it is a Robo call or sales person. Today this call came into my home with the caller ID showing “smartenergy“. Once on mute, a person actually said my first name as if he were an acquaintance of mine. This I do not like. I left the call on mute and let him time out. I have found   This method of screening calls the best way I’ve ever done it. Unwanted calls have dropped from as many as 20 a day down to as few as zero but sometimes 2.  This has to be a sales call because I do not deal with anybody from smartenergy.
